Best bang for the buck?

Try finding a local cue maker, for a cheap sneaky or something. If your set on a production cue I know Mcdermott has a lifetime warranty against warpage going on now. Its hard to find a two peice cue new or used that just plain sucks A$$. I got a 20 dollar sneaky pete thats in the trunk of my car that I take out to bars and stuff. Its all banged up but it will shot a pretty damn good game as long as you know how to use it. I got another custom Q thats quite a bit more expensive. I didnt buy that hoping it would make me play better. Its just something I take pride in when Im shooting. Kinda hypes me up and stuff

Best bang for the $$$$

The already mentioned Dufferin & I'll add a Pechauer J01.

I own both, paid $75 for the Dufferin & $200 for the Pechauer. They both work just fine for "spare" cues. In all honesty my Pechauer gets a little more play to call it a "spare" cue :)

Yep they both get my vote for solid hitting well made cues. Huebler sneaky pete is another. Had there been a price range listed it would of helped.

I would like anyone who is interested to tell me what "production cue" they consider to be the best bang for the buck and why. I'm looking to buy a spare cue. I'm not looking for a cue because of its' looks, just a good quality, name brand, solid hitting cue such as a Joss, Lucasi, Viking, Cuetec, Judd, Meucci, McDermott, Schon, Dufferin, etc., etc. Thanks everyone!!!
Replies to this thread are starting to slow down so I want to be sure to thank everyone who took the time out to respond and gave me their opinions before this post disappears. You have all been very helpful. I'm currently checking out a Joss.

If you go Joss I would reccomend you try to get a "hustler" type without the metal joint. I have found almost as a rule the metal jointed Joss have a very "hard" hit. The Joss that do not have the metal joint on the other hand are usually cheaper and have alot more feel.

Good cues

I found a Ginacue and a Joss West in the same Hock Shop...75.00 and 50.00....about 5 years ago.
Try looking around...you might be surprized!!

My God, what a score that was! That's like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I thought a friend of mine really scored when he went into a pawn shop and bought a perfect 97-11 Meucci for $15 recently.($400 cue) The pawn shop owner wanted $30 initially but he beat him down. That's still nothing like your buy.

Well I personally think at some point in the Production Cue equation, you should consider a CUSTOM TYPE PLAYERS CUE. If you are planning on spending in excess of $300.00 on a Production Cue.

But first let me explain what I mean by “CUSTOM PLAYERS CUE", a Cue from a Custom maker, but Plane Jane.

Maybe a Fancy Sneaky Pete, or Custom with No Rings, No Points, No Embellishments, No Inlays, No Veneers, etc. But you still have the ability to Customize your Cue with the following options:

* Weight
* Length
* Balance Point
* Tip Choice
* Shaft Taper
* Choice of Wood
* Wrap. Wrapless, or Color of Wrap
* Tip Diameter

Kind of makes we scratch my head when going into a Pool Supply Store like Connolly’s (or what ever it is called) Billiards Supply in the PHX Area, and seeing a Cue selling for over $400.00 Retail.

I say to myself that for that you can get a nice Cue Off E-bay, Cue Auction, or many Custom Maker Players Cue with a Single Shaft and probably will have something more to your liking. Think someone was recently selling some Webb Cues on this forum for $400.00ish.
