Best Break Cues? I need to buy one. Let's see the votes.

Due to some tendonitis in my arm, I am looking for a new break cue that can do some of the work for me.
I can crack them well enough on a bar box but when I load up and go full speed for a 9' break, it really stings.
I'd like a CF shaft and phenolic tip with the new one.
I've tried the BKRush and the Jacoby CF and they both hit harder than my current breaker that I will continue to use for barbox pool.
I'm interested in the JFlowers line of break cues as well due to their price point.
Any higher level players in here using one and willing to share their opinion on the cue?
I have not seen one locally, so I'm going in blind with the purchase.

You might find The shock to your tendonitis is less
What you may give up in mph you will gain in accuracy and control

Thanks. That is what I'm using now with a maple shaft.
I watched a review by lil Chris and he was getting good spreads with the JF @ 14mph.
I currently break much harder than that using a hard leather tip with good success but it hurts quite a bit.
It is my hope that I can dial back the effort with a stiffer cue and achieve similar results.

Maybe try the 14 mph break with the leather tip and see how you do
I have had severe tennis elbow so i speak from my experience
I had to give up tennis and breaking in pool for over six months
I would advise seeing an orthopedist and or physical therapist, because there are treatments you can do to try to speed up your recovery

1st shot wore off.
They said they will do one more.
If it doesn't last, there is a new treatment they can do that has shown success, but only with tennis elbow -which I have.
PT sounds like a good idea. I will look up some exercises that may help speed up recovery.
Doc said it will heal on its own in anywhere from 6 months to 6 years lol.

I haven't had tennis elbow since I played on HS and college teams long, long ago.
I had to quit tennis 3 years ago due to plantar fasciitis. That was brutal.

Howdy;

I've written this before, I found a Dufferin Dot on ebay for about $35.00.Went to a local cue guy.
He had some old planking from the local Community Center, Oak. Was used as a floor board for
over 40 years. He'd already had it turned into a cone so he removed the Duff's joint from the
shaft and fit it into the cone. Finished putting the taper on the shaft stuck a Talisman Jump/Break
tip on it. Charged me $80.00. So, $115.00 for an Excellent break cue. It's in my Signature.

I've had a J&J for several years. It was around $85.00 new. Never had a single problem with it, and it is a field cannon.
 
I use a McDermott Sledgehammer with a Bulletproof tip. 20oz. I rarely break dry, 4 balls is not uncommon. I'm a fan. I tried a CF shaft on it but preferred the LD Maple on my breaker. My play cues are all CF.
 
I use a Mike Gulyassy Original Sledgehammer J/B w/g10 ferrule-tip. I have tried many
BK rush, Lomax, cuetec, J&J and others, always sold others and went back to the Sledgehammer.
It breaks better then the others I tried. I had to buy the BK rush and the Lomax just to try because
nobody had one by me. The BK was pretty good, did not care at all for the Lomax. The cuetec was
pretty good too.

A harder tip and stiffer cue will cause you more discomfort rather than less. You want the shock to be absorbed more. I like the White Diamond tip for that, it has a softer hit than the Samsara or phenolic, and even softer than the pressed leather tip I had for a bit on a cue. Check the rack for tightness, even angle, and hit it square. That is all you really need for a good break on normal equipment (AKA clean balls, normal speed table) , not just a hard hit.
 
Love my Pechauer Black Ice. I have it on a Pechauer butt but you can put it on your butt of choice. Great solid breaker I put a Bulletproof tip on it and now it’s even better.

Being at the much lower level that I am, when I was buying a break cue after only playing a couple months, I ended up at the same conclusion this guy did, only I did it by accident. I chose 25 oz because I wanted more power with the same stroke due to control. I picked a good hard leather tip , again to help control. Finally I went cheap because if I hate any of it at under 150 I won’t feel bad. Ended up with the 8 ball mafia 25 oz. I still can’t believe how great that combination is working for me. Do I expect skilled players to decide to give it a go? No lol. But, for someone looking to add a lot of power while losing no control and spending very little money, 25 oz with a good hard leather tip is an instant game changer
 
I also tried a 25 oz break cue it worked ok but I felt there had to be something better for me out there . I then tried a Predator BK2 , which I'd guess is around 19 oz I can't remember .

But whenever you ask for the best of anything it's all preferences of each person , I'd suggest borrowing a break cue and try it out its a Ford , Chevy or Dodge situation or which gal is the prettiest ha ha I wish you well with your search !

One more here for the Predator or the Mezz. I can’t believe what a difference. It’s now a rarity if I don’t make 1-ball or 2-balls or even three. Previously I made one or more balls about 40% of the time.
