Don't really want to spend a lot on it as I'll rarely use it but what kind of suggestions do you all have? Would prefer to spend less than $100 but if less than $100 won't buy a jump cue worth using I'm open to suggestions.

Even a cheap jump cue will do well enough to be worth using.
J&J is pretty much the top ones that most pick (including myself) and there are a few designs of them. I can get over a full ball with one given a bit of distance. Break OK also, will save wear on your playing tip. Action and Players both have under $100 break/jump cues and there are other dedicated jump cues only. You can get a Pechauer Jump cue for about $130, Dufferin makes one for about $60, plenty of them, and all about the same quality for that price. You can pretty much pick by the design you like.

This may be good for you https://www.seyberts.com/jump/break-cues/dufferin-d901-natural-canadian-maple-break/jump-cue/ 13mm so a bit more of a standard cue size. I may actually buy one of these, I don't quite like the thicker shafts on my jump/break cues.

I like the jump/break cues, the do each thing well enough that the cost and space savings are worth it to me.

http://www.furybilliards.com/cue-jpt.html I have Fury JPT1 and it is surely very good value for the money. It jumps as good as Predator Air2 but more precise. ;) And I had it for 100eur.

The best value out there for a dedicated jump cue is Robin Dodson's Tadpole. They haven't been made for quite some time, but can still be found new on Ebay. Stocks must be starting to run low, because a couple of years ago you could get one for $50, now they are $99 new.

You can find lots of J&J J/Bs for under $100, and they work just fine. I've tried the Fury J/B too, and was pretty impressed, although I'm not sure about the current models or prices.

If you're willing to get used, I highly recommend Jacoby. Personally I would prefer the 3-piece, but at least this one is under $100.

Thats a bold statement! Have you owned an Air2? IF you had then you would have never bought the fury. Buying a budget jump cue isnt really your best bet. You may only need to use it a few times but those few times could mean the difference between winning a tournament or not. Best to get a nice one that youll know you can depend on. James Hanshew makes one of the best on the planet for $175. Dont cheat yourself to save $75 that could end up costing you matches or tournaments.

Another thing to consider is a jump cue should last forever n u won't need to replace tops or maintenance them so if u buy the nice one ull have it forever and u won't have to worry about selling that budget one and buying the nice one in a short time when u realize the difference. I hit one ball with a Tony lane jump cue and realized its on par with the best performance wise money can buy. Unfortunately I'm in no position to spend say 700$ on a j/b but believe me I would if I could.

The J&J jumpers jump really well and can be had for under $50.

If you look on az for sale forum or ebay you might find a used Jacoby under a c-note and those are considered a top jump cue. I think they are about $130 new.

either of these choices would do nicely.

best,

Good call, saw enough recommendations for J&J, found a natural colored one brand new for $34 with free shipping on Ebay. I suspect it will last me a lifetime, as I only jump once every 50 or so games. haha

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Lucasi makes a good production jumper.

Honestly jumping is more about technique than anything else, so it doesn't really matter as long as it's short and has a very hard tip.
