Best Case for Me?

I'm looking to buy one 3x6 or possibly two 2x4 cases. I'd like a soft case as hard cases (the boxy or briefcase ones, anyway) don't appeal to me. I'd like leather or leatherette, preferably in black or dark blue. I'd like some storage space. I don't need a shoulder strap.

I don't want a lot of decoration, I don't want a stand, and I don't want a lot of the little "extras" you pay more for. I just want a solid, sturdy, dependable case that looks simple yet attractive. I will pay extra for a case that does those things well.

What case is best for me? I've really not yet seen anything that suits my interest. Some are close, but it's tough to tell by looking at pictures online, and I have no retailers nearby, so I have to rely on third-party (your) help.

Check out the Sterling soft case 2X4, i have one in blue and it has plenty of storage. Could be a inch longer, kinda tight with the joint protectors on.:)

i really like the action cases, i have a 3 x 5 i got from pooldawg, the 3 butts in the front are spring loaded, then the 5 shafts are in a separate part. This case is so nice and lite.

I should add that I'm willing to spend $200 to $300. I like the Talisman cases, but they're ~$355 apiece (2x4).

Cases ....

I also bought the Action Elite Eln35 from http://www.Pooldawg.com
and love it. It is a soft/hard case, with the feeling
of a soft case and benefits of tubes for the hard part.
It is 79.20, good pockets (jump butt pocket too), good
padded shoulder strap, good rubber handle. Free shipping.
Big bang for the buck.

The other I would recommend would be the SilverFox BR-2.

I really recommend the Silver Fox line of cases. I had a 3x5, but sold it to my buddy Matt and he seems to like the case. It's light, but protects the cues very well. Not flashy, just effective and affordable. I also personally have a soft Silver Fox for when I want to just take 1 cue and bang balls around.

Hope this helps,

Instroke Cowboy. Plain black or dark blue. Or an Omega Case, which is designed by the German Instroke designer. Looks just like an Instroke.

(Is that a fair statement, Michael?)

Look at Porper's cases. I don't know if you will like them but they are very sturdy yet very lightweight.
Here is the one I owned.

Woops...sorry. i use a Guiseppi 2X4 for my expensive Cues. Nice case lots of storage.:) The Sterling is for my beater.:D

Did you guys miss the fact ...

that he prefers a soft case in lieu of a hard case.

Tsk, tsk. It's a sad world when you boys can't figure out soft from hard! :p

I LOVE my Talisman case. And it's semi-hard, the pockets are soft.

Yeah but he likes Talisman cases. I wouldn't call them soft cases.

I think this is part of the way he clarified what he was looking for. Not a box/briefcase (box or briefs? Har har).

I take that to mean that Instrokes, Whitman's etc., are in the running.

They are. By "hard" case I meant the "box" type, I guess. I was taking more the "golf travel bag" approach whereby hard meant hard and not pliable at all, while soft meant rigid but still made of cloth and whatnot.

I like the Talismans... I just wish they had a 3x6. Both lines (Tribal and Original) fit my tastes - they're understated yet elegant. I particularly like the tribal, and in 2x4, I'd want one brown and one black. But at their prices, that's $700. Bummer.

Thanks for all of the pointers so far. If you have any more, keep 'em coming.

Edit: derrr, they make a 3x5. Which should be plenty.
