Per my post #16 above, the other issue i was trying to remember is that on the one bolted to a mill quill, "zero" has become ever more difficult to re-set. Takes a skinny screw driver poked & prodded deep into the button to eventually do the trick. One of the real advantages of having this low-budget "DRO" on the quill is the ability to set "0" anywhere on a part, and then work up or down from that. So it is re-set a lot more often-somtimes multiple x per part, than merely checking baseline "0" on a caliper occasionally.
