Best Day Ever!!

Just got back from Casper's. I had breaks of 41, 38, 34 and beat my personal best by shooting a 61.

Yes the pockets are generous, but the baize is completely worn out and the table wasn't level. Finesse was not an option. I was also encouraged by the fact that the break was completely controlled. I only had 2 bad positional plays but shot my way out of both. The break ended on what should have been a routine shot but oh well I felt great about it. I really like the way I saw the pattern

The chipped beef barbecue sandwichs at caspers are the best and the service is top drawer.

Maybe the pockets invalidate the break but considering the other factors and considering I NEVER practice snooker I felt good about how well I saw the pattern.
Cheers,
Marcus

Good job man, beating your highest break is always a great thrill. It is great when you just go over it and then you are in that weird place where every point just adds to that total.

A 60+ is fantastic! Don't worry about what comments you'll get, even on a 10' with buckets that's great. Caspers doesn't have fabulous conditions, but it's a 12', so kudos!

61! Fantastic! But just a important, I think, are the accompanying runs you made in the same day. Our best club player won the final frame the other day with a run of 45, which is great, but his next highest break was only 20-something. Keep it up!

A 20 isn't bad as long as it doesn't end in a miss.

Looks like I'm beginning to hit my stride in time for the US Championship. I just made a 104, it's on my own table without an opponent, but the pockets are tight and it's a 12'. Sorry MNorwood, I don't have it on video for you to post on youtube.
Hopefully I'll get a couple more of those before the big tourney.

keep up the good work guys, and if any of you get the chance to come toronto then give me a call and i can coach you to beat your highest breaks and get centuries regular, had 138,137 and 132 last time i played, and even though ive had 10 maximums and over a thousand centuries felt good getting them on same day always new targets no matter how good you are...

I will probably need a tune-up 'cos of all the bad habits I've picked up over the years. Too bad Houston is quite a way from Toronto.
Good luck with the coaching and let me know when you get to my neck of the woods.
