Best Epoxy

Can someone please tell me/advise me of which epoxy is best for a G10 ferrule and a Sonic tip?

3M DP420 at 4500 psi will be best, but something like Permatex 30 minute at 3500 psi is much cheaper and may also be sufficient. There are also several epoxies made for golf club shafting.

Well Joe I never put more than 1500 psi when gluing tips or ferrules as the extra pressure could loosen the wood fibres. :wave:

What instrument do you use to measure the psi?

PSI is the strength of the epoxy and is given by the manufacturer. I only use epoxy on tips like the Samsara break tip. DP420 is recommended by Samsara.

Unless you are using a solid g-10 tip/ferrule " all in one" then what Kim said is going to happen, doesn't matter what epoxy rated at what psi break strength. The only time I haven't had a problem is when I glued a phenolic tip only onto a solid capped ferrule ( melamine ). But even then they its not 100%. And I don't use epoxy to glue tips on.

I certainly cannot speak for anyone else but I always use pressometer.
