Best felt for 8ft brunswick

do you ever wonder why

everyone says its just as good as 860, becvause every one is comparing their cloth to simonis, because simonis is the best.
i put it on my brunswick highlander table and have been very happy.

Count me as one who is not as happy with Simonis 860. I'm a beginner and it's too fast for me--it's too hard to control speed. The cue ball just keeps rolling, even on light hits. Also, it's much faster than the cloth on the 9-foot tables at both pool halls I've played in, which play more the way I think of as "normal"--"neutral" would be another way to describe them, they don't seem too fast or too slow. I end up playing sort of "gingerly" at home; often don't feel like I can stroke normally. Again, I don't have much experience and I'm not that good at pool.

But for instance with a nearly straight-in shot on the side pocket, just a little angle, with draw, it's hard to stop the ball before the end rail. That might be because I hit draw too hard, but rolling four feet sideways on a 170- or 165-degree angled shot when you're *trying* to hit it soft seems a little excessive.

I've had the cloth for 3-4 months and it might have slowed down a little, but just a little.

I would personally get a slower cloth if I had it to do over again, at least for my first 3-5 year stint with the table (before 1st recovering).

I have a Brunswick 8 ft. that I purchased new about 45 years ago. I don't know what cloth the vendor put on it on the original set up but after about a year Sailor came over and shot a few games with me and he recommended Somonis 760, so I had him get the cloth and recover it for me. It has been covered with that ever since and I really like it. My son has a 9 ft. covered with 860 which I find a bit slow.
