Best ivory ferrule alternative?

What is the best ivory ferrule alternative? I tired of replacing my cracked ferrules on my Paul Motty over the years. In my opinion ivory has no place on the perfomance end of a cue. They are a throw back to the old days and modern materials just seem better. I am looking for a material that will perform similar to ivory so my cue will play the same with no drastic change.

Elforyn is a good alternative...

This one is a great material, which has some reputation by cuemakers, knife manufacturers and wood sellers.

Maybe you'll find something English, there are many sites in German, that recommend this material!
Here's the product information...

You can get this clean or with structure!

Hope this helps.

same folks that manufacture juma also make ELFORYN
with grain & without grain
the without is as white as white can be and stays clean

You're right, Elforyn is popular as well, though maybe a bit too white to be a sub for the ivory look? I suggested Juma because although it doesn't have a grain, I think it has about the right shade. The top is Juma, the bottom is ivory. Pretty close match in color. In long term seasoning, ivory will polish up higher than Juma though. Not sure about Elforyn.

Guido Orlandi 906-542-7069 has some artificial ivory (looks like the real thing). It looks good & seems to be unbreakable.
