Best Jump Break Cue

I am looking for a good jump/break cue. I have heard many different opinions on many cues from the Lomax, Predator BK2, Bungee, and Orange Crush. I think some of those are break only. Here is a little about myself. I am an avid pool player without a high power break. I am looking for a cue where I can control the cue ball fairly easily on a 9 foot table while breaking. I currently use a sledgehammer and have grown tired of it.

The proper cue would have to be able to jump/break. I would prefer it to not have a phenalic tip as I dont know how long those will be able to be used. Pool world is finicky on new equipment and phenalic is a relatively new concept. I have tried the cannon, but that is way too heavy for me.

Lomax with a samsara tip. He can build you a jumpbreak cue. He goes by stevel on the forums. Great guy to deal with.
I have a break and jump set which I prefer but he can make a combo. My break cue has the samsara on it and it breaks great with control. So its a win win.

Get yourself an andy gilbert j/b!!!!!!!!! if your budget's a little lower and you like production cues get a mezz pb1/2

Everyone has an opinion so here's mine, Lomax,
Candi Rego on the women's tour plays with my cue, Jumping has always been an issue for her, about 5-2 long nails, very feminine. She asked about me building her a break jump, I called Steve Lomax, She was able to jump so easy with it, she giggled. Steve is a good guy and a friend. Whatever he does, it works. What else could I possibly say.

We had a break test

We had a test of this situation on my pool table with several players. We took 5 break cues, some expensive, one cheap, one med price. I don't want to say anything bad about the cues that lost but I had several people pick the Varney Jump Break over the other name brands. One was a Sledge Hammer and it did not even come close to being voted. Predator break cue was one that was evaluated.

Everyone broke two to three racks per cue.

After cutting the field to two, more racks were line up for the test.

Again, this was just tests on jump break cues that we had at our pool room.

Get a chance, why not try a Varney break cue side by side with other break cues that you guys have at your local pool room. Let the shooters judge which breaks well.

I have tried so many break cues and jump breaks combind and the I heard alot about Varney's on AZ so I bought one. And I am so glad I did. I pocket a ball or more every break and it makes jumping so easy. And he extended the handle for me so it's longer then the standard j/b cue. It makes the long jumps really easy and I can control the cue ball on both the break and the jump. So for me Im so glad I bought mine and everyone I talked to says the same as well.Give Kevin a call im sure he can build you something for what you need . When I bought mine I had a player cue made (widow cue) made with bocote and maple with his ringwork and I just decided to have him make me both to look similar with the same wood combination ,,,,Good luck finding a cue that suits your needs <<ED
