Best/most memorable Experience at Valley Forge?

Tough to call, The inside pool party is always a blast. Getting a little action in the practice area is also exciting. I would say for me it is going out to dinner with other cuemakers and bs'ing after dinner. There have been several great days there so I won't limit myself to just one. Chris.

Ok, so there is more to it but that holds the most memories for me. One year we went to the nightclub each night before going to the party and that was a lot of fun too. Most people walk around, check out the booths, the cues, etc... I'm usually in one of two places depending on what time of day it is... the pro arena or the party.
p.s. InsidePOOL and Jeeves are no longer partners in the party. Now it's "Jeeves party".

Certainly, some of the most memorable moments were at the parties over the years.
Still, for me, the pool is the thing. For me the most memorable occasion was watching Karen Corr win her very first WPBA title in front of mentor and fornt row occupant Pete Fusco in March 2000.
Another moment that still rings for me was the final between Allison Fisher and Jennifer Chen in 2001. Chen, seeking her first WPBA title, led 4 -1 in the race to seven final when she tried to combo in the 9. Her miss turned the tide of the match, with Allison prevailing 7 - 5. Just a month later in San Diego, Chen made it to the final again and lost to Allison Fisher 7 - 6. It's a story with a sad ending, too, for as many of us already realize, Jennifer Chen has never won a WPBA title.

The gambling before there was "The Pit." Regular small action, $20 on the breaker or racker, with just a handful of people around. I bet the nuts in one game. A bag of Barbara's wonderful nuts against a sawbuck. I lost. No way does that happen in today's pit.

Sheesh Fred, you're going to make me think and have to re-do my post. 
This will be my 4th (really 3 1/2) VF coming up. I completely lost touch with the pool world when I moved here in '98. March, 4 yrs ago I'm in a small town about a mile from here in a little place that had a .25 bar table. I would stop in every 6 mo or so & it was always the same people. This particular yr, one of the regulars asks me if I'm going to the expo. I assume it's just an expo selling cues and what not. I waited until Sun to go up.(hence the 1/2 yr) I was sick when I got there and saw what it really was. Six yrs of living 45 min from it and I never knew.
I bought tickets to the pro event and was so excited to see Danny Harriman's name up. The last time I had seen him was '92 and he was out on the road, not a pro level player at that time. After his match we were walking around the expo catching up on the past decade and people kept coming up asking for his autograph... it was so weird seeing people wanting little Danny's autograph! I was proud of him because he had accomplished a great deal in the yrs that I hadn't seen him.
The next yr, I'm there for the whole thing! I turn the corner and there's Shannon Daulton. It had been even longer since I had seen him. Shannon took me up to the party and I had a great time. Up until then, I had only ever seen most of the players and industry people that I knew, in the pool room. The thing I loved the most about the party, and still do, is that it gets everyone out of the pool room and gives you a chance to get to know people better, not just their pool life, but other things in life that they enjoy. That yr I met Gary, & his son in law, who had also befriended Tony Crosby & Lee Chenman aka Bobby.
Every yr since then, Gary & I room together. We've become life long friends and I have VF and the party to thank for that.
'05 was one of the best. I met so many people at the party and when I got on here, I kept running into people that I had met there. Some I remembered, others I had to be reminded. LOL, I had a slew of business cards that I was entering the names online looking for pics trying to remember who they were.
I really look forward to going each yr because I always make new friends and get to see old ones. It's still all about pool to me. Last yr using Eydie's computer, as some of you will remember, I did live updates from the tournament room. This yr will probably be more of the same. I spent over 12 hrs in the tournament room one night. I'll be doing updates again, but I'll be taking more breaks to get out & about to enjoy myself a little more this yr.
