Picking up my lathe Saturday and was just looking for suggestions for the better companies to but tips, ferrules/material, cleaning supplies.

I am going through this forum looking at previous threads but if someone wants to PM sources I would appreciate it.

I'm only looking to do tips ferrules, cleaning and maybe get into wraps.

Thanks

Ok...200+ views and no replies.

How about places to avoid?

If you're going to learn to do wraps, look at my site www.superiorcues.com. I have a leather wraps page with a wide selection from standard to exotics. I'm sure you'll be pleased with my cue leather.

If you use the search option here, you'll soon discover all of the vendors who sell cue repair supplies--there really aren't that many! I hope that helps.

Martin is EXACTLY right about what he said. I am very surprised you bought a lathe without knowing where to get supplies. I hope you did more research about lathes than you did supplies.

www.cuesmith.com for cleaning and sealing, plus whatever else.

www.cuecomponents.com normally good prices on tips.

On the first page you will find where many, if not most people get their supplies. I'd suggest buying rod and making your own ferrules. Martin is the guy for wraps IMO.

I did a quick search on here and got most of the info you wanted in about 30 secs, so I'm not sure how intently you really tried.

If your next thread is "where do I get the best exotic and very best shaftwood".....well....GOOD LUCK with getting any of that without making some very good friends or sending out a bribe.

HOWEVER, nearly all the best suppliers a Googleable if you really make an effort...

I found my own sources well before I bought the lathe. I was merely looking for the opinion of everyone else. There could always be a new or different supplier out there.

As for the lathe, it is a good one I picked up from a cue maker friend. Thanks for caring ;)

K.. That's good. I didn't mean to be condescending.
