Best pool movies

Poolhall Junkies could have been a good movie. What killed it for me was how these super players kept having to bank and jump balls to make them look like good players for the bar and drunk college kid crowd. They needed to make it more authentic.

Walken was great in that role, really the best part of the movie I think.

The best one is the one you want to watch over and over. Thus, The Hustler, and The Color of Money are my favorites. And they are the only 2 I own.

All pool movies take a backseat to Sharks. Barretta takes acting to a different level, and the ensemble cast has me shaking uncontrollably.

The title makes it sound like a movie about poker, but Turn The River with the chick that played Jean Gray in X-Men was actually pretty good for an Indie flick. Rip Torn is also in it and Tony Robles has a cameo. I wasn't too fond of the ending though. It's on Netflix if you want to check it out.

There's a good 9-Ball scene in "Talk to Me" and a funny episode of the Dick Van Dyke show where his co-worker's brother hustles him pretty well. It's more humorous than realistic, but I enjoy most anything pool related.
