Best Poses for pool players

What are your favorite poses when taking a picture in the billiard room or with billiards equipment?

Films like Turn the River, The Color of Money, The Hustler, Shooting Gallery, Poolhall Junkies, and Stickmen or even TV shows with a few scenes with a billiard table show the same style of poses.

How pool is portrayed in photos or film has been stagnant. Its like a style from the 80s that no one wants to let go of.

There have been countless aiming systems, and cue material advances from break cues to jump cues and extensions and bridges and every other piece of the cue and cue case. It shows the industry development of products and accessories.

The cultural development lacks. If I ask young people like myself the most popular dance or song, that changes weekly.

Pool is destined to cling on to traditions that are being updated. The triangle rack has been replaced by a ball template. When will the pool player stereotype be updated.

Whoever is selling pool isn't selling it right for today's generation.

The discourse between players, organizers, tournament directors and billiard organization can be a great source for the lack of unity. Since no one wants to play along with someone that is mismanaging or making bad decisions its better for people to start fresh. Fresh leagues, fresh tournaments and no maintenance. Maintaining failed ideas of the past that never took off or have peaked is crushing pool.

obviously it is displaying the $500 you just won in the local tournament like it 's a million bucks.

$500? I've seen it with $100 or so. Had to zoom in a bit to make sure hehe.

This is one of my favorite shots of my son at the Jr Nationals a few years ago by JP.

Looks like a fierce safe and he is doing the double take to make sure before he sits down. That is a great photo.

The 8 in the side pocket straight in, and everyone is frozen with surprise Keith made the shot. The emotion is there but nobody would look or think twice about whats happening with that table layout.

In Pool Hall Junkies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIQ4rQLIKMc

Moose getting angry for scratching in the side pocket is just as bad. Is he a bad player for playing an obvious scratch?

I understand its a film and they are actors.

But when reality and experience red flag the film, the film becomes poor story telling.

Turn the River at least films shots that some people would be surprised the first few times they see it.
