Best radial pin material

Well I like the steel and the brass. I use the brass radial connecting pin in the A-joint and I use a stainless steel radial jiont pin. This is really a preferrence. You will get a lot of opinions on this.

What you should be asking yourself, is how the different materials will affect the weight and balance of the cue. There's a big difference between the brass and titanium in weight. You left out aluminum, and G10, too.
You'd be hard pressed to actually determine whether a different pin material will make the cue hit any better or worse, or even much differently, aside from the weight factor.

As far as balance. I like the balance of a chris nitti cue. Does anyone know what his balance point is?

On quality cues... I think balance point becomes less important and weight distribution is king. Evenly distributed weight to create the balance point (rather than a steel joint counteracted by a steel weight bolt) is the biggest difference.

based on experience & customer feedback, we only prefer ss or titanium pins. they hit more solid than the rest, and fit tightly on our implex (metal-to-wood) system. g10 the least. however, we use g10 on the a-joint when customer wants a lighter cue.

If done properly, the radial pin wood to wood joint provides among the most lively feedback. You gotta be one heck of an experienced player to determine the difference of a wood joint and a steel joint.

Just get a SS pin and be done with it.

alot goes into the question. different materials are used to achive different weights/balance points. over being BETTER then the other is very subjective. obv a g10 pin in a rosewood forearm will play different then a SS into a maple forearm. IMO not much is pin in this case but forearm material
