Best Shaft For Humid Conditions?

Burn all jump cues

On most days my table is humid from 8 am to about noon. I pocket balls well with a LDS shaft in the morning. In the afternoon I miss a lot of balls until I change my cue to a standard maple shaft. At first I thought this was all in my head, but now after weeks of it happening I believe it has to have something to do with the shafts. The two LDS's are an OB-1 and a Cuetec R-360. The standard shafts are Viking's and Dale Perry's. Thanks. Johnnyt

My guess? Higher the humidity, the more swerve and or ball cling. So, in the morning you are miss aiming (for lack of a bettter term) compared to what your brain is seeing. Yetthis increased swerve/cling is compensating for it. In the afternoon the swerver/cling is less and without it the LD shafts don't go where you think (too straight). The standard shafts do by deflecting just a little bit more.
But, what do I know????

I think how your are missing will help deduce if I am totally off base or not:confused:

Missing has nothing to do with LD or not LD unless you are putting english on the shot. I'd suggest running drills using both shafts in the morning and then the same drills in the afternoon using both shafts. Use a few drills like Joe Tuckers that allow you to keep track of how you do. Then once you have the data, look at what is going on.

Good idea and thank you. I have Joe's drill book also. Johnnyt

I agree with NewStroke on this, but personally prefer Madagascan Noodlewood.
It already comes warped which oddly enough tends to straighten out shots on a 'wet' table. :)
