tips

im a fan of the elkmaster myself, but you may get a couple in a box that shred real easily when scuffed. If you like a harder tip, a blue diamond will do the job.

Just curious if anyone has tried a "milkdud" supposed to be very hard but still hold chalk and can get pretty good action....any thoughts?

I play with a Peradon and it came with a BlueDiamond tip. I really didn't have a problem with it. It was worn down so I just recently put a Mike Wooldridge "super tip" on and am very pleased with it.

I am currently waiting on a Trevor White cue....................he uses Elk Master tips. So in a month or so I can give some feed back on them.

A lot of players here in the UK are switching over from Elk Master to Talisman...

I have always prefered Elk Master tips too, but you are right I can name a couple of players on the Main Tour who are using Talisman tips, John Higgins and Steve Davis, and I'm actually quite curious now in trying one out for myself.

Best wishes.

Alan.

Higgins and O'Sullivan i think you mean, Not heard of Davis using them.

Elks and the ever so slightly harder blue diamond have been the only tips in the uk for donkeys years, the intenet has since opened up the market.
I've always bought elks though the number of duff uns in a box seems to be more nowadays and it's led many to try others. The talisman soft are the best i think they hold the chalk well keep their shape far better, last longer and are only marginally harder as long as you buy the bigger ones. The smaller ones just aint the same quality i've heard. At £5 a tip they are 10 times the cost so it's false economy really duff elks aint that common in a box.

During Group Six of the Championship League the commentator mentioned that Higgins had convinced Davis to try Talisman and he was a convert.

Davis went undefeated in the round robin then lost to Higgins 3-0, never sinking a ball until Higgins had won the third frame.
