Whats the best/or most favorite Table you ever Played on any size...in your own opinion
What cloth was on it? How were the pockets?

my fav is an old mid 70's brunswick "Heritage" 8 footer....nothing fancy the finish on the rails has worn nicely.
i like the cut of the rails on the corner pockets, rattles alot of balls without being too tight ....and the side pockets are fair, not too big not too tight. the speed of the origional rails is still perfect, and the cloth speed is just right with Championship cloth.....love the sound of the ball hitting the bottom of leather drop pockets.

i dont know to me this table just plays the way a table should....not too tough but not bucket pockets.
very fair as far as playability.....if you miss the pocket and hit the rail your not gonna be rewarded.....but at the same time the table doesnt rob you

I don't know....that's a great question. I have seen many great tables, but I can't decide. I DO love the sound of leather drop pockets.

a gold crown with perfectly cut/shimmed pockets. There is only one like this that I liked and its at MainStreet in Tucson. Other than that its a diamond with pro cut pockets.

Definately have to say the diamond pro am. Speed of it was beautiful...Barely a light touch would get you around the table seemlessly.

Believe it or not, bought a 1928 Brunswick 9 foot table for $75 back in 1976 in Lexington, KY. It was in a club that went out of business. I refinished the dark wooden rails myself and sent the irons out to be redone with woven leather and gold tassels. Recovered in copper colored cloth. When finished, it was a thing of beauty. I believe the slate was 1.5" thick and weighed a ton - fortunately it was in 3 pieces. Loved playing on that table with my two sons. Had to sell it because of a transfer to Tucson with IBM. No basements in Tucson, so had no place to put it. Sold it to the first person that came to look at it for $1000. I still think of that table ever so fondly.

By Far this is it.

I gotta say the old diamond professionals for sure! Before Artemis cushions, those things are horrible.

Gold Crown I is my table of choice. I stripped it and have it professionally powder coated and painted. Double shimmed with perfect original rails. Selliing it now if you know anyone in california interested.

The table that I have now is the best by far that I have ever played on. It is a diamond pro that is 2 years old and set up by RKC. I have never looked back since I ordered this one.

Thanks for the support.
Old Brunswicks play great if converted and set up properly. Just as accurate but not quite as fast as the modern European tables.

About a year ago I had the oportunity to be in the area of Q-masters for a week and got to play on the Diamonds in the back room even though the room was supposed to be a "locals only room". I would say that would be #1 in my book, maybe because the table were in great shape and played well, but I think it had more to do with the atmosphere and everyone treated me real well.
#2 The sand box in Dubai, Im a Navy guy that didnt get to see land, let alone a pool table for three months and when we finally pulled into Dubai in the early 90's the rec center had 4 generic 9 foot tables. It was just nice just to play pool, I didnt care about the equipment.

#3 I think it was 1997 time frame, flew to San Diego to play in an all military tournament and they had a Diamond 9' table set up under the TV lights and I never even heard of Diamond before that day because the only thing we have in our area is bar boxes. Well I quickly learned "they aint no barbox" eventually I learned to make the changes and came in second in all the Navy so I was pretty happy with that for not playing on 9footers in a while.

I know its not about the tables specific, but I just had too.

Nat's pool room on Shirley Ave. in Revere, Massachusetts. I believe it was a Brunswick Centenial table. It had tight, tight pockets and they helped me through the years. I also managed to win a few bucks, playing on that table.

Great Memories.

Brunswick GC II

In my basement, done by RKC. 4 3/8" pockets, 860 HR cloth. Nothing plays like it. Nothing.

Correction: another RKC table would play like it.

Brunswick Metro tournament edition. With brand new simonis and centenital balls. It rolled so true and so pure, the pockets were 4.5 but played fair, and of course the rails bounch the way theyre supposed to. not all funny like diamonds do.
