Call Chris and tell him what you want to do with the machine. He will get you into a good machine at a good price and you will get all the customer service you might need.

You nailed it. The Cue Companion is portable and a work horse. Make sure you get the big spindle bore and their best variable motor. They also have a super nice tool post with indexable carbide cutters.

Chris and Todd both have great products. I have spoke to Chris in person only one time at Valley Forge this year and maybe he was having a bad day but did not act like he was very outgoing or really wanting to help me much. So I picked up the phone and ordered a lathe a cue builder friend of mine built for me from parts that Todd sells. A lot of guys here rave about Chris and his customer service and no doubt his lathes are good. Like I said maybe it was just a bad day. Todd I have ordered from and dealt with on the phone and was always willing to help me figure out what would work and took the time to help me. Just my experience with the two so far.
