My question is do you think that a soft layered tip plays better then a hard non layered tip on a laminated LD shaft or a non laminated LD shaft.

I was thinking back years ago I bought a Meucci Black Dot and had one hell of a time mis- cueing and the only tip that seemed to work was a Moori soft.

I shoot with a solid maple shafts now and can shoot with almost any tip.

Lepro would be the toughest tip for me to play with and a soft layered tip is my normal, but I do like triangle tips..

If I was to play with a Laminated LD shaft I think I would want a soft layered tip.

Whats your opinion ?

I think a press elk master......after that it is up too the ah rah shooter

I can't think of any reason that the amount of CB deflection (squirt) would make any difference in miscues.

It's a good question. A layered tip, whether soft or otherwise, tends to increase spin on the cue ball. So does a low deflection shaft, whether predator, OB, Mezz, etc. In my experience, the combination of both puts too much spin on the cue ball for control.

So, I tend to like single layer tips such as Triangle or the old Le Pro (70s, not the stuff made today) with the LD shafts to dampen the spin a bit. I've had good results with the layered tips on non-LD shafts. As always, your mileage varies.
