I just can't say enough about this tournament and the guys that run it. Richard Arendt is the main man that works with Seco Varani to make this a great success every year. This tourny has alot of history and has kept going strong each year for 30 years. It's always filled up 2 months ahead of time. In many tournys you might have a match or 2 that are kind of soft but this tourny that is not the case. 32 players and out of the 32 I think just about anyone could knock you out or win it.
This tourny is also old school with the winner breaks in 8 ball and 9 ball. This year there were 8 past champions that had won it before and hard to say how many runnerups there were.
Thanks Richard and Seco for a great tournament again and again and again. Just wanted to let the pool world know what a great job you guys have done for years.

I also can't say enough about one of the young guns here in Minnesota by the name of Beau Runningan. Last year he won both of these tournaments. This year he got 1st in the 8-ball and 2nd in the 9-ball.
It seems like every time he goes someplace that isn't laden with pros that he just seems to always win. And not only is he winning but he's one of the nicest guys we have in this pool world. And he's only 26.
Keep an eye on this guy. In the near future I can see him knocking off something real Big.
