Best Value Aramith Pool Balls

So I have decided to buy my own set of balls. Between the following which would be the best balance of price to performance? I don’t mind spending more if the difference is quite noticeable between sets. I was leaning towards the Super Aramith Pro Cup TV set but figured I would ask to see what everyone else thinks.

Aramith Premium + Super Aramith Pro Cup Measles (~$245.67)

Super Aramith Pro Cup TV (~$359.98)

Aramith Tournament Pro Cup TV (~$466.42)

Good used set of Aramith Tournaments. Can find them, as new, around $250. Brian.

I would seriously consider Dynaspheres. I have 16 sets of balls and the Dynaspheres Rhodium are the balls I play with regularly. I also have a set of their Bronze. They are the most consistent in terms of weight (across the set), play great and stay cleaner longer. I've got Aramith Tournaments in my collection and IMO, the Dynaspheres are just as good if not better. The nice thing about Dynaspheres is they use the same high quality phenolic resin across all their sets so even if you buy one of their inexpensive sets, you are getting a high quality phenolic ball.

Here's the link to the Pool Ball Weight thread I started. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/pool-ball-weights.536976/

Dynasphere is the best ball for the dollar. No one is close to their value. Their Tungsten set is $100 on ebay. It has unique colors. Their Silver set has the trandional colors (costs a bit more, but still well below Aramith).

Aramith Tournament, preferably not the TV colors. In my opinion, they are easily the best looking of the entire Aramith line.

Super Aramith Pro's in regular or TV color pattern are great balls. I routinely swap between my Tournaments, Super Pro's, and Preds.

I have seven different Dynasphere sets, they sit mostly unplayed on the shelf.

I would throw the Arcos II Predator balls into your selection group. Same resin as the Super Pros but slightly different colors and really nice ball design.

I will second that opinion. When I bought my table, I got a new set for $300.

Like you, I was considering buying a set of Super Aramith Pro's, but I found a set of unused, still wrapped in cellophane Aramith Tournaments with an orange 5-ball (i.e. traditional colors) on facebook for $316 shipped. wrldpro, a member here, sold a bunch of brand new and used sets of Aramith Tournaments for really good prices ($250 and $325 shipped if I remember correctly, anyone remember the prices?).

I wouldn't get the Aramith Premium + a measles ball. Before purchasing the higher-end sets, I also recommend looking at Dynasphere.

Do you mind telling me where you are getting your dynaspheres from?

I got a set of those Tournaments for I think it was $257 at the time, actually quite a few of us did at that time. Week later they were $100 more. Still kicking myself for not buying 2 sets. Was new, not used and from Wayfair.
Aramith super pro- $328
Aramith tournament $426
latest prices

Does Wayfair put them on sale pretty often? Worth waiting for Black Friday in your opinion?

I have never seen prices on tournaments like that again. The ladies pro tournaments usually have sales on balls that were used for the tournaments only. About 75-100 off for 4 or 5 days use.

The Dynasphere Platinum showed up on a Google search, but I'm pulling the link where there's a question about the company, and I haven't done business with them. I'm not sure there are any Bronze left. If you like TV colors, you can do well with Silver.

That, about us link, when you type in their address shows an eye care business in a little strip mall with about 6 other businesses. None of which look like game supplies. Also, their info says no showroom, yet the address is a little strip mall.
I would be leery without looking further into them.

Jul 12, 2024 — I believe it's a scam. The address they show on their website under contacts is phony. They are a web only business with no showroom, no walk in.

From what I gather from all the comments on ball quality, it seems like the Dynaspher bronze set is the best thing going. I believe they have a maroon 7, an orange 5 and a Moby Grape purple 4 these colors are a must for me anyway.

Is Dynasphere gold for $260 a good deal? Couldn’t find a lot of info on the gold series

The quality is the same across their whole line, which is why the less expensive sets compare favorably, but the consensus appears to be that all sets are as good, if not better than the best Aramith. I haven't seen the Gold in person, and I'm unsure if it comes with a measles ball like the Platinum or Palladium (rotor-shaped measle). The Rhodium reminds me of Centennials, and it has a measles-type ball. My Platinum set came with two cue balls, template racks, and a cloth. It comes down to what font you like best.

Love my Rhodiums.
