I just played in what I think is the best weekly tournament I've ever seen.

I'm sure there is some better arounf the country but this one is right up there.

It was in Poplar Bluff, Mo at Westwood billiards.

Handicap 9 ball.

They had a $750.00 in the calcutta. First place in the tourny was $225.00 and first in the calcutta was $280.00.

The top players are rated a triple pro and the rating goes all the way down to a c players.

I was rated the top rating so when I played the C player I gave up 1 game one the wire, the 7 and 5 wild and the break.

I also had to go to 7 and the C player only went to 5.

Great tourny for the lower level players and it showed. They had 38 players last night. It got done at 5:00 AM.

I love to see tournaments like this because it turns every player into a monster.

Let's hear about other great tournys around the country that go on every week.

It could give some other poolhalls some great ideas to help pump up interest in pool by creating some great competition.

The highest rated player better play Perfect in these or the lower rated players will chew them up and spit them out.

SWEET..........No stealing. You need to play or go home.

Wat to go Poplar Bluff, Mo Westwood Billiards.............

Handicapped tourneys suck. They are never fair.

Incorrect.. If you know your players and protect your tourney heavily from cherry pickers all you have to do is adjust based on money won...... I ran tournaments for years with no bs drama and had 50-70 players every Thursday night....

And 5am is nuts I was done by 2am every night..... 12 tables and double elim.......

This one is right up there.

They don't post the calcutta results, but when I have been there it ends up being about the same as the tourney.
This thing is capped at 64 and during the non-summer months is full every week.
Always some top names there....Phil Burford stopped by, 'Lil Tony is there quite a bit, Stevie Moore swings by from time to time, josh roberts, jeff abernathy.
