Betmore’s basement report

After hearing all the praise that gets heaped on Williebetmore’s basement I finally made the pilgrimage this past weekend.

First off, Williebetmore has a beautiful home. (Break up described it as “home”, the place is as big as an institution, but it is actually a single family house.) It is spacious and has a very unique and nice layout. Turns out, the house was designed by his wife. The lady has very good taste. (Well, except for marrying Willie.)

His pool room is top notch. The walls are filled with pool related pictures, many autographed by legends of the game. (There was a picture of breakup with scribbles all over it and the eyes gouged out, I did not ask for details.) The room is very spacious, no polls in the way, no obstacles to work around. The Gold Crown is well maintained and perfectly level, no roll offs all day.

Willie was a great host. I arrived about 1:00 pm Saturday and did not leave until 1:00 am Sunday. (I would have left earlier, but it took me that long to win a set.) We did take one break for diner where we dined at a Mexican restaurant with his wife and two of his children.

It was a great day of pool, Don was a great host, and I can’t wait to go back. (I am looking into Indiana law to see if I can be legally adopted.) If you have not yet made the trip, you should. It is nice enough that is would worth planning your vacation around it.

Mike you need a debriefing pronto. It seems like everyone that visits Betmore’s basement comes out with similar delusions (at least the ones that do actually escape the pit). Willie has access to some of the old cold war brainwashing/hypnosis drugs and techniques somewhat like the Manchurian Candidate. Brainwashing unsuspecting victims has been a hobby of his for years.

You’re a young man Mike, seek medical attention soon before it’s too late.

Mike, is it true that Willies pockets are actually 5mm smaller than the balls?

TheUnitaryValue,
Yes, it is true that the pocket openings are quite small. I don't mind saying that real pool players can jump the balls into the pocket. Isn't that what all those snooker (or is it snoooooker?) players do????

Breakup,
Fortunately for you, you have nothing to worry about if you visit. Brainwashing, at the bare minimum, requires that YOU HAVE A BRAIN.

P.S. - I deny that any brainwashing occurs (it's natural for Mike to think that he's a chicken anytime someone claps their hands).

I believe they do this in their spare time (in between saving lives and world peace seminars! :p )

Sounds like you have a top notch facility there willie. Maybe we will have to have a Michigan V Indiana Midwest championship. Start on the Goldcrown at your place and complete the finale on the 9ft Diamond at my house...

Man Mike, you took a while to get there! :p

So did I miss some posts or what? What did you guys play? How did the games go?

I'm guessing Straight Pool to 500, right?
