Better Aiming through Combinations?

Combination shots often require more precision, since there is usually less margin for error. I don't know as it would necessarily help you aim any better than any other drill. Shooting long straight-in shots will help you practice aiming, and the feedback you get is probably a little easier to read.

Thanks... My thinking is you have to be able to accurately send the first object ball to an infinite number of points on the table instead of basically the same six when shooting directly at the pockets.

straight in shots can be praticed from any distance tho....you can start close range and build it up.....matter of fact that was one of Mosconi's favorite ways to warm up b/f a match.

the reactions of the balls in straight in shots will tell you more about your stroke and stance than any other shot.

The ghost got it right. I would start with CB OB about 1 diamond apart, and build up from there. Put your cue ball on the headstring, OB one diamond away, straight to the far corner, Gradually increase the separation, one diamond at a time.
