Calling all experts of custom cues...to those collectors, buyers and trade w/ custom cues who shoot and tried w/ custom cues that made by custom maker...i need your opinion...which cue has a better hit James white, Tim Scruggs or Paul Mottey? I need to gather info so that i can pick which cue im going to buy and use as my playing cue.

Those are all great cue makers and all have great cues. It really wouldnt matter what any of us think about how those cues play. What would matter is how you thought they played. A cues hit is very subjective what I love you may hate. The best thing to do is play with some of the cues you are interested in. Thats the only way you'll ever make a really great decision on which one to buy as a player...........Good Luck Dave

is there really an answer to that question? each one has the best hit in its own way.. and you will find many different answers from many different people.. i would say.. as far as hit goes.. you cannot go wrong buying a cue from any one of those cue makers... right now i only own cues from 2 of the makers.. but i have hit with quite a few james white cues and they play just as good as my mottey's and my scruggs cues..

different strokes for different folks as they say..
my best advice would be find some cues by all three guys, and then pick the one that you are truley in love with the design and buy it.. simple as that..

good luck..

Buy what you like

Those are some heavyweights. The first one you see by any of these cuemakers that you just have to have buy!
Good thing about your list is they all have very good resale value. Just be careful to select the joint type for you. Then buy one of the three! If you are not happy well you only have about 10 other choices what to do after you resell what you bought if you don't keep it! Between Radial, steel ,Ivory and big pins and piloted pins it should keep you buisy for some time.
Buy something you find attractive and keep it long enough to get used to. Chances you will not sell it.
You might want to consider adding Mike Cochran to that list. His wait is a little long right now but well worth it!
Good Luck!
Nick :)
