Better than Phenolic

Which one of these break tips is the hardest leather? I think i want the one with the most energy transfer but still can hold chalk for a second ball break with side spin. I don't think you can do that with a Phenolic tip.

why not chalk before the every break?
you should chalk before every shot you make, especially if applying spin, so definitely on a break shot.

Recently I've tested my break speed with the Predator Break Speed app, using my BK2 with a CF Raven shaft with a Phenolic tip and with my Players J/B cue that have a Samsara tip.
Both cues weigh about the same. I got the about same max resaults with both.
It is more about the speed you can move the cue than the hardness of the tips at these hardness levels (of course, there will be a difference compared to a softer tip) . the Samsara is obviously easier to chalk and control with side spin.

I don't have any idea but the Samsara would make an excellent break tip. I used it as a jump tip and didn't like it as much because it can generate a lot of spin. It would be perfect for a breaker however.

Are you using one of those fancy chalks?

I have found that the phenolic tip on my break cue does not accept Taom V10. I chalk up with plain ol’ Masters and it’s fine.

I am using the Kamui Sai -Control break tip on my McDermott Stinger cue that I’ve used for decades.
Much to my surprise and amazement, the tip either rejuvenated my cue or else my break because it
seems to hit the rack more powerfully based on the sound of my break and scatter of the pool balls.

I have used the Kamui control tip - excellent power, very good control , but you must chalk diligently prior to each break shot.
Are you guys using hard or extra hard?

More than other tips hitting the same spot on the CB?

I can't say for absolute certain but it seems so. I was used to a bakelite tip. The bakelite can definitely generate spin but with the Samsara it was almost like any spin I tried to apply caused the CB to masse or something. I'm not a skilled jumper, so it is probably a skill issue, but my make percentage went WAY down when trying any kind of spin, even a bit. I was pretty comfortable making and getting shape with the bakelite. I can pretty much make a ball jumping now but it's scary to even attempt any kind of shape. If I'm brutally honest I think the grab is amplifying my flaws.

I know it's not supposed to work this way but when elevated, like a jump shot must be, it's giving me fits. When I get a chance I'll put another bakelite on. I've been trying to give it a chance but it's almost wore out it's welcome. That said I still think it would make an excellent break tip.

I didn't see the Picone White Diamond on your list.

They are not leather, layered fiber. Safe for cue ball.
I think you can just talk about which break tip you like best.

My post was because I was about to pull the trigger on a Raven break cue... but I realized that they are standard deflection carbon shafts. Probably stiffer than wood, but not any better than a 80 dollar CF break shaft. So, I am having second thoughts.

Never said I liked them best.
Thought I would mention them, have read nothing but good on them right here by those who's opinion I trust.

I'm not into that as noted by my sig line
