Bewareof This Ebay Seller

I guess I don't see the problem here as you stated you assumed it was overnight.

If the auction said overnight and it was send a different way then shame on them, if you assumed it was overnight and it was ground, then I don't know that there is a valid complaint here except for a higher price.

It happens all the time when dealing in cards, you buy a MTG, WOW, etc. card for .99 but pay $7 for shipping.

I purchased a cue from this clown on ebay a few months ago & he charged me 29.95 shipping for fed ex. I assumed overnite shipping for that amount. He sent it fed ex ground for 6 bucks! I called to ***** & got some lackey who does his shipping. THG cues. Wow!

These things are very common on Ebay. It's not the sellers fault, it's the buyers fault. They charge extra shipping because the price of the object isn't high enough to generate a profit. They all state that up front and the buyer should pay attention but they fail to read the whole thing. No scam....no ripoff...just inattentive buyers.

Reminds me of a seller on there right now selling the Aramith measles ball for $25 and wanting $14 in shipping. To make matters worse, they are claiming in their ad that these are a bargain at $25 since he has sold them before for $75 each. I just ordered a set of nine pool balls that was DHL shipped in like two days for $5.95.

I just won't do business with eBay sellers that gouge you with absurd shipping charges, especially when the product is priced near what most sellers are offering theirs for.

Very true Royl....I always check the shipping costs first before I buy. When I sell I always state upfront that I charge what I'm charged...unless there are times when I do flat rates. But it's all stated up front.
It doesn't hurt to read the fine print...because it's usually spelled out quite plain.

A few months ago? Why did you suddenly decide to write a thread on AZ about it months after the fact?

In any case, inflated shipping costs on eBay aren't unusual. Most items are offered by numerous sellers with wildly varying shipping costs. I'm not sure why you decided that the higher costs must automatically mean a faster shipping method, especially if not stated.

Looks like you did good ,and he did better. Shipping costs are not inflatted
if you agree to bid on an item. I like what my az brother says a couple of posts back, Allways read what the shipping costs are. For sure some of those folks do not even list a shipping charge, By rites they can charge anything thay want. It happens all the time. MOORE MONEY

I bought a cue from Ernie (Gina). He charges for overnight shipping because he doesn't want the cue laying around in the warehouses in extreme temperatures. It took the cue 4 days to be delivered. I called the shipping company and complained. They said that since I didn't do the shipping I could not make a claim. I called Ernie and he put in a claim and sent the refund to me. He didn't have to do that but it shows what a class guy he is.

If someone says overnight, then it should be overnight. But regarding shipping/handling charges, bidders take that into account when bidding (or should). So if someone charges $50 for shipping on a $100 item, they can't expect to get $100 bids. But WTF is the problem as long as it's in the auction up front? As a seller, it's irritating to get complaints about my s&h AFTER the auction is over. Another thing to consider - if I make a few buck off s&h on one item, I probably lose it on another. I guarantee you the guy who pays me $15 for shipping when it costs me $25, IS NOT going to complain or send ME a refund.

So don't be anal. It's a bad way to go through life and will cause you some pain, and no fun.
