Howdy, Big day in the Dawg household... I bought a pool table this weekend. Wo0t!. Anyway, I have a 9 footer (1 inch slate) that's all broken down in my garage... (it's an furniture style table, drop pockets, claw legs, oak. Table playing area is huge. Measures 110 inches by 55 inches bumper to bumper) While it's broken down I thought I would take the this opportunity to change the bumpers, cloth, shims, etc.

Also, Im not really educated on what types of rails are out there and how they play, I just recognize the accu-fast name because of their advertising. Somebody wanna tell me what my options are?

I'm planning on taking my time and trying to put together the best playing surface/table dimensions possible...

Let's talk about it, If you had a 9 footer what's the dream setup. What size pockets?, What kind of rails? what kind of cloth?

Good idea to get input from the forum. Congrats on the table.

Hello:
Nice table. Hope you have many many pleasant hours playing pool. Good Luck. Did you mention what brand the table was?

Congrats on buying a table. Isn't a 9 ft table 100x50 inches? 110x55 might be a 10 ft table.

Steve

I did not personally measure the table before breakdown. The gentlemen I bought the table from was adament the his measurments were exactly that. I pressed him hard about it, I said "inside bumper to inside bumper?" which is what he claimed in his ad. He said, absolutely. In looking at the table even broken down, I have no reason to doubt him. It's a pretty big table. I even said to him, that there was no such table measurement, that a 9 footer was 100 X50. He said his measuring tape didn't lie and even seemed a little lost. But fell back on "I dunno man, I measured the table playing area from inside bumper to inside bumper" "those were the measurements, I wrote them down". He said the sales guy at the place he bought it said it was almost a snooker table. Dunno, I happy with a reg 9 footer. If it's a little bigger, Im cool with that too.
