Big Table Leagues in Omaha/Lincoln?

My league experience is limited to the Omaha/Lincoln area of Nebraska,
specifically VNEA. All of the leagues around here that I have seen are
played on 7-foot coin operated tables. For the most part the tables are
decently maintained, but it's far from ideal. Bad rolls are certainly not few
and far between. It's very frustrating for me because I tend to practice on
larger tables (8' Brunswick GC or 9' Beach Sanibel and occasionally on old 10'
or 12' snooker tables) that are seemingly more level and not as dirty. I
prefer the bigger tables because I think they are more challenging and
require more talent and skill. You can't just bang the balls around, you
have to be more precise and when you miss there is less chance of you
luckily hooking your opponent. Does anybody know of any leagues in this
area that are played exclusively on bigger tables? It's a damn shame that
$1 per game on a crappy 3.5x7 has become the standard.

Have you tried Big John's in Ralston? They had big table leagues in the past, I'm not sure if they still do.

Yeah I went to Big John's for several years until they attempted to rip me off on a bar
tab. Confronted manager about it, and he was drunk and challenged me to a fight in
the parking lot (which just so happens to be right across from a cop shop). Instead
of the owner fixing the problematic employee, he told me (a regular) to piss off and
changed the bar to accept cash only. Good business decision! Haven't been back
since, well over a year, last I heard they are allowing people to smoke in there, which
is yet another reason for me to avoid it. Thanks for the reply :thumbup:

I use to play in a league in Richmond VA that was on the 9' tables. I liked it ok but most of the leagues I have played in have been on the Valley 7' tables. We now have the Diamond bar tables where I play and they are great to play on. It's a big difference from the valley BB. One thing you should need to know if you don't already. All the nationals are on Bar tables. The VNEA is played on Valley but most of the others are played on the Diamonds. For me it is a lot tougher playing on the BB then a big table. You just done have that much room to move around on the bar table and most of the time the balls stay cluttered up and it make it more challenging. Of course that is just my opinion.
