Big Tournament with NO FEES:

What nice size tournaments in your area have tournaments where there is no green fee, no quarters/no dollars, no fees, etc?

A really big one is the semi-annual event in Fort Walton Beach Florida. It's really incredible. They've got one coming up Oct 6-7th 2012. It's a pretty good drive for me but the event is so nice, it is worth the trip.

Let the rest of us know if you have any big tournaments in your area where there is added money and NO FEE OF ANY KIND.

I believe there are plenty of room run tournaments that could do this and be happy with what they make off the food and drinks. Most are too greedy to do it. They want all the honey. Johnnyt

Free Tournament

I just played in a free 9 ball tournament. It was my first one in 50 years of playing. It even paid $20 for 1st and $10 for 2nd. I split 1st and 2nd with another player. I came from the 1 loss side and beat him the 1st set in the final match. We had about 22 players.

There is a $50 entry fee in the one JoeyA is talking about. It also has $1500 added. Johnnyt

So you have never lost even one free 9 ball tournament in fifty years of playing.... That is an incredible record.

Room is air-conditioned and kept cool, tables play great.

Close to the beach, if you like the beach, it's only a 5 min drive.......

This used to be my home town, love it, miss it, and am seriously thinking about going to this tournament and playing.

we have a bar here in town that put on a , what he called an apa appreciation tourny.

he put up 1,000.00 and limited it to 48 players. 600.00 for 1st and paid down to 4th.

no entry fee at all, players just split quarters for the games they played.

the 48 player field was filled within a week of being announced if i recall correctly. had several people show up as alternates in case any players that had registered did not show.

the calcutta the 1st day and the mini calcutta the 2nd day totaled over 2,000.00.

not a bad turnout and calcutta for a bunch of apa bangers wouldnt you say ?
