Bill & Billie's of Arnold, MD has been closed permanently as of yesterday morning.

Former Address: 1244 Ritchie Hwy # 4, Arnold, MD 21012

Those of you that were involved in the 14.1 league and select 9-ball tournaments will probably be receiving messages from your respective tournament directors and promoters.

WHAT??? Do you have any additional information??

That really sucks.

I do have more information but given the legal nature of the dispute I am not sure it is safe to elaborate...suffice to say the place was closed by the local sheriff and the tables have been broken down and warehoused!

a DAMN shame.

I learned everything I know about the game there. It was somewhere that I (or any of the other regulars) could go at any time of any day and find someone we know to play with. Nobody in the area took care of their tables like billies. It really sucks how it happened out of the blue too.

Now, here's a question. A bunch of the regulars would leave their cues at the pool hall when they left. When everything got seized, did those players cues get taken too?

Too bad. I've heard of the place for, literally, years. Almost as long as I've been playing. I was told by a pro player a long time ago, you don't even walk in if you ain't loaded on the hip. {cash, not gun;)}

Wow, I'm going to go by there tomorrow (i live close by)and see if anything is posted on the door or something.

That's too bad, I was only there once for a planet pool stop and never had the chance to head back down there.

I received an email from the people who run the Tiger Planet Pool Tour. They said that all of the facts are not in yet, but the closing may be temporary.
I hope they are right.

I'm sorry to say, I don't know any more about this than most of you.

Although I did not play in this room, on a regular basis, I have enjoyed many pool tournaments there. It will be a huge loss to the tournament scene, in the Mid-Atlantic area, if this places closes permanently. Let's all hope that they can straighten this stuff out.

.......Randy??

If I understood correctly, Randy's conflict with the owner was personal, not legal. I don't think it could have anything to do with the local law enforcement shutting the place down.

I hope they open back up; I've been meaning to get over there at some point because I've heard they have a 12' snooker table, and I've always wanted to play on one.

You really show what kind of guy you are, by laughing at this situation.
Although we don't know the circumstances, one of the better pool rooms in Maryland has been closed. Because the owner of that room wouldn't kiss your butt, you come on here and laugh about his bad fortune. You have no class at all.

I went by Bill and Billie's today or what used to be B&B's. There was a AA Co. Sheriff's car there and a box truck loading up stuff. I saw the microwave and their empty display cases rolling out. I saw no tables standing and there was a lot of activity inside empting the place. I don't know what Sheriffs do in other jurisdictions, but here they work the courts (baliffs) and enforce court judgments out in the field. I don't know what the problem is here though or why they're closing. Bryan:(

First of all, richie, its not class, its called karma. IMO, he is getting EXACTLY what he deserved. And yes, with it comes a certain amount of satisfaction for me. So I say, ha, ha!

As far as my incident, it had nothing to do with him not kissing my @ss. Ask jeanette lee how she and her family were treated there that day, and if she would go back. Also ask danny Barouti.

In fact, the honorable peter borroughs couldnt stand the guy. I was approached after the "incident" about buying the place, just to get it back in the hands of the regulars, who couldnt stand this guy.

Excuse me, while I go lmao now.

let me say i have nothing against Jeanette Lee, but her conduct at the event after she was knocked out of the tournament was not all that great either. there were major matches being played and she was more concerned about proping her child against the wall, tables, etc. to take pictures while matches were only feet away from her. for such a competitor, i was a bit thrown off by that.

but, that is neither here nor there from what has happened. the one thing about karma randy is that it does come back to you eventually, laughing at the situation sure doesn't bode well for you either. although it appeared many people didn't like the guy that ran the place, you cannot say that he did not support events. this is a sad loss for the area as it was one of the best "poolplayer" rooms in the area.

Can you expand on what this guy did to them and you please? I've only met the owner once (don't even know is name). he seemed like alright guy to me. Maybe rode and worked his people kinda hard, but sometimes that's necessary. The smoke smell in there was disgusting though.
Thanks, Bryan

Bryan,
Why does it matter? The one bad thing about forums is that people put way too personal of information out for the pool world to see, that should never see the light of day. It is obvious there was an issue between the two of them, why add fuel to the fire?
