Bill McDaniel diameter of joint? Anyone?

I am trying to figure out the diameter on the butt joint on my Bill McDaniel. I do not have the tools to do it. If anyone ownes one and happens to know can you help me out. I am trying to get some joint protectors made and do not want any over hang or too small. Thanks for your help.

My McD had an SS joint of .840 (standard). But the pitch/thread was slightly different and required an H2 tap. (It wouldn't fit a standard 5/16x14 shaft without being tapped)

Well a predator 314 shaft and a z2 shaft fits on there fine. Do you know if the threads on a predator shaft are tapped? I tried to put a standard j/p on there and it was hard to screw down after about half way on. Thanks for the fast response.
