Billiard Playing Robot Ready to Bring on the Hustle

I heard that when he's not playing, number 1 teams up with number 5, and fights crime in NYC...

The computer is not gonna be picking its shots...it is human controlled. If the person vontrolling the robot does not understand patterns, shape, and how to run out...it does not matter how accurate it is

Really? If it never missed then it wouldn't need to know patters or play shape. duh.

Considering that Deep Blue defeated Garry Kasparov and "Watson" completely owned the 2 greatest Jeopardy players ever, it's conceivable that once this thing is perfected, it might be capable of beating the top pros.

Yes, but Deep Blue was created in tandem with Grandmaster chess players who fundamentally understood the game. Based on the tag line of "...an amazing 80% accuracy" I can gather that the creators don't realize that A level amateurs have considerably higher accuracy than that. They would need to realize that it has to be higher to do what Deep Blue did.

By comparison it'd be like saying Deep Blue always noticed when a piece was threatened. But didn't bother to worry about advanced strategy.
