I think you guys are being harsh... this is obviously a fairly unskilled position. He is offering great benefits, especially when you consider he is not looking for a college education.

I am sure he is paying what he can afford.

$12 an hour is about $24,000 a year - this is not awful for an entry-level position (especially in rural Pennsylvania), especially one with that benefits package.

Agreed Steve-damn good opportunity for some young guy in the pool community.

i just know my buddy and he isnt going to work for 10 an hour... its hard to survive these days on that amount, im not saying its a bad deal, but my buddy is almost 30 and looking for a career change, and wanting something in the billiards industry, but i dont know if he can make it on that salary.

Listen, I'm seeing red here. The man didn't say $10 per hour, he said $10-$12 per hour (negotiable) . Plus excellent benefits. I work for Conrail, and IIRC the starting pay is about $12.50 plus benefits and the competition for those jobs is fierce. If our economy continues as it has been a $12 per hour job with great benefits will be a ripe plum.

Quit speaking for "your buddy" and just keep still if you're not interested. For a young man or woman, with no job to go to, who loves pool, and needs benefits, this IS A RIPE PLUM . You never know what this might lead to either.

Thanks for listing it here KNYTE260...Tom

If you don't get any candidates from A-Z, try a free posting on Craigslist.

:)

I appreciate the responses and feedback from everyone. For those commenting on the compensation, it was only a guideline I put out there for a typical candidate with no degree and lacking much job experience.

We are an organization with 50 employees and usually find a way to make the right offer for the right person.

The job opportunity is ground level with a good upside to it. We are an ecommerce company that does $20,000,000 in annual sales in other fields (aftermarket car parts, computer peripherals, pet supplies) and we are actively looking to dive into the billiards industry. Being the first involved in a newly formed business usually lends itself to management potential and other things.

I replied to those that sent PMs and emails. I would love to see someone join us with a deep hobby background in the game. I am a player myself and learned a ton about this game hanging out in pool halls and lurking forums over the years. I've travelled to the US Open a few times, and I'm at Valley forge every year religiously.

Man, this is right up my alley and I have been out of work for 2 months until last week. Just signed on doing financial software support for local construction company. I was looking for jobs in the billiards industry and if I lived closer, I would have PM'ed for an interview and compensation discussion. :) Live in Cleveland, mid 30's and even to relocate, I would need a bit more then $12/hour long term. That's what interviews are for though, bring everything to the table and try to make a win-win for everyone involved.

Wish you well with your search! Sounds like a great opportunity for the right person. It was also nice of you to mention it here first. In my eyes, that's very respectful to the billiards community.

web-site administration ? sounds like a job where one would have a lot of responsibility and aggravation for small compensation.

d_flash doesn't work for less that $25 per hour !

Sorry, web-site administration sounds a little heavier than it really is. We have our own in house IT team that handles everything web related. The only "management" I was referring to was making sure our products descriptions are accurate and uploading product pictures to the site for new items.

This is a non skilled position, other than the fact that we are looking for someone with an interest in the game.
