Someone has finally come out with some billiard shoes. If any of you find out more about these than what is on this fbpage, please let me know.

Curious about everything to do with "billiard" shoes.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Might be the next silver bullet to becoming pro speed! Lol just kidding, I have a pair of these but they aren't billiard shoes, just regular dress shoes.

Well, those don't look nearly as terrible as I expected them to. Not bad. No idea why we need billiard specific shoes, but I've seen plenty of worse footwear being worn to play so these look like they'd work fine.

A guy in my poolroom has some very unique footwear. He takes his shoes and socks off and plays in his bare feet. Don't even want to know why.

Yah, I was wondering what makes these "billiard" shoes.

Exactly why I'm posting too... why are these pool shoes as opposed to any other dress shoe?

I dont want the reason of "comfort for long periods of standing" either. There are a thousand shoes that can provide that.

BILLIARD SHOES!

to answer a few replys and other threads, I guess the reason would be to wear nice shoes for dress code tournaments and provide comfort. seems the only reason i could come up with, other than that what constitutes a billiard shoe is beyond me. my nike's do great when I play.

Since my bunion developed nearly thirty years ago, I wear nothing but New Balance walking shoes. Specially to play at SBE where the floor is not necessarily carpeted. Comfortable. Supportive. Grippy.

I'd be interested in learning why "Moose" designates the shoes shown as billiard shoes.

We, too, have a Sasquatch at a local Line 8-Ball Tournament.
It must be his way of "sharking".

Uh oh. I sense Cleary posting with another manic crusade about dress codes in Pool....

The first dedicated billiard shoe to my knowledge was introduced last year.

I guess further info can be obtained from Black Heart Tips.

EILeon, those are nice, it is very hard to find a nice pair of red shoes comfortable enough for long hours around a pool table.

I wonder if he has a home table.

I've thought about this before, if I had a home table I'd probably end up playing barefoot all the time as that is how I am when I'm at home. Then if I was out playing I could see how playing in shoes could feel strange. I think I'd go the minimalist running shoe route rather than actually going barefoot at the pool hall, but I could see where the impetus fore barefoot play could come from.

I believe I read somewhere SBE is carpeted this year.

I love the concept behind billiard attire. I just don't see it taking off any time soon and most especially, not with footwear. I would go after the shirt market. We've often borrowed from bowling shirts or polos but nobody has ever thought of an ideal shirt for pool. Like, what would the material be or would it have pockets (not trying to be funny)? I could actually see something like that working.

This makes me revisit my recent thread tried to ask our AZ community what they think would be important in a billiard shoe. But, didn't seem like much interest.
