billiards.colostate.edu moved to DrDavePoolInfo.com

I played pool in Student Unions all across country. Maybe it was the fact they lacked bar boxes that attracted me, I don't know, but something always drew me to them. Although much of the time I was not a student, none of the Unions ever refused to rent a table to me. Coming from the very dry South, it always astounded me to find beer available in one. (Several brewing companies offered to build USM a new Union in exchange for being the exclusive purveyor of beer on campus. Sadly our wise governor stuck with no beer at all.) Interestingly, I spent very little time in the Ole Miss Union, but then Purvis's, three or four doors off the Square, was just blocks from my house. Neither sold beer.
We tried to get a tap in the Union at NDSU, but that took all of 10 seconds to be shot down. Y'all may not believe it, but NDSU is a dry campus...

Well this is just sad. I started playing pool at the student rec center at Virginia Commonwealth University (Gandy Big 8's) back in the 90's and was a billiard instructor at Montana State University (mostly 9 foot Gold Crowns with a lonely 8ft snuck in) about 13 or so years ago. Thankfully they let the public play and it's still the nicest equipment in Bozeman. Hard for me to imagine a university without a functional pool hall. Where do the kids go when they skip class?

Edit: Forgot to add, Best of luck with the new website!
We also had Gandy Big G's just up the road at James Madison University in the student union during the late 80s and early 90s. I know they moved the pool tables to a different location at one point, no idea what they have on campus today if anything. Those were great times NOT going to class :p

Yes. DrDavePool.com also points to the new site. All the other ideas I and others came up with (I had a long list before I started searching) with were already taken. My original top choice was PoolInfo.com.
There is a .info tld also, did you check domain names there?

Either way, new site looks good. The old site was not full of overblown fluff, so looks like it migrated to wordpress flawlessly.

I thought about it but decided most people expect “.com”

I did shorten much of the text on the main page to make it look cleaner and less intimidating, but the sight is largely the exact same, except for all the additions I’ve made this last week. Im always doing that. The previous site was built in WordPress also.

You are correct. CSU had a large and beautiful pool room, and a bowling center. Unfortunately, a flash flood in 1997 destroyed both of them. And more unfortunately, the university decided to use the insurance money to replace both of them with "flexible student activity offices and meeting rooms." The only pool tables on campus now are two bar boxes in a Students Center bar, and a few tables in the dorms.
Boo hiss!!

I do not believe that I suggested that pool "be the university’s focus". Universities never have a single focus.
Dr. Dave offered CSU an opportunity to expand its curriculum into an area new to academic treatment -- he was a pioneer, if you will. Dr. Dave spent many years successfully proving pool to be a subject worthy of academic inquiry. Dr. Dave will never criticize CSU, because he is not that type of man. Fortunately, or not, I am -- CSU screwed the pooch.
Ouch!!😂
