I posted this in the carom section first, I thought I?d post it here with the hope of getting a few more responses.
The situation is this: my cue ball is approx. 3" from the short rail ( in the middle where the manufacture logo is) the red ball is buried in the corner about 25" away. The other ball is about 4" strait out of the apex of the opposite corner on the same end of the table. I tried to play a double kiss off the red, rail first in the hopes of hitting the short rail again, then the long rail and finally the remaining ball to score.
What happened was after hitting the rail, the cue hit the red and came off frozen to the rail. Almost hitting the remaining ball.
My question is if the ball is moving while truly frozen to the rail does this count as an infinite number of rails therefore more than 3? Or would it be 1 rail, or none? If this is only 1 rail is it stated somewhere how long the ball must be without contact to the same rail to count as a second hit?
My gut reaction to this question is that it would only be 1 rail, but as I am relatively new to 3 cushion I thought I'd ask.
