Billy Incardona Wins Senior One Pocket

Congrats to Billy

Baby Huey didn't only make the final, he won the winner's bracket.

The guy has the best one pocket break in the world, oh and he can shoot too.

I really enjoyed this event. It was nice to see some guys who I have crossed paths with in past years as well as to meet the many new guys I missed in my journey.

Knowing the time that you were going to play your match was TOP SHELF.

ALL of the guys at this event represent some of the best talent from their respective parts of the country.

I look forward to the next one and so should any of you that qualify. :D

Billy is still a bad man...

Congrats sir!

And to you, too, Baby Huey, for making the final in this prestigious event.

best,

It was a 65 and older senior event.

You can see the final list of players here: http://www.onepocket.org/forum/showpost.php?p=180081&postcount=3

Buddy Hall was scheduled to play but had health issues I hear.

I would like to know if there are any players that we might know that played.

This is the post I put up last night on my facebook page.

I recently returned from Houston TX. where I played in the senior's One Pocket event held at Bogie's Billiards. This is a great room, clean and with plenty of well kept 9 foot Gold Crown tables. John Rizzo, the manager, along with the help of Jeff Sparks, a local talent, put together a wonderful tournament for 24 of us older generation players. This was a strong field of players whose cumulative years of experience total more that 1,000!

I finished 4th behind 3rd place finisher Wayne Pullen. 2nd place went to Jerry Matchin, who plays great west coast One Pocket, and the champion, after having to play 16 continuous, grueling hours was Billy Incardona. In this tournament Billy again proved why he is in the Hall of Fame. His tenacity, his willingness to suffer those long, tedious hours, and his "never give up" attitude helped set him apart from the rest of this very experienced field. Way to go Billy!

And congrats to you Tom and everyone involved. You guys go way out of you way to make it happen. It's people like you:thumbup2:

Gosh.

Dear Gentle Readers,

Catching up on the last Senior Soirée one-pocket news - - boy, do I wish I could have watched it! - - reminded me of Audra Mae’s version of Dylan’s “Forever Young.”

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
And may you stay forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Leaping to odd connections is my life,

Sunny

It was my pleasure (although not at the time) to lose in the final match to Billy Incardona in the Seniors One Pocket event at Bogies Billiards in Houston this past weekend. We had 24 players for the $2,000 added event. It was an epic match and Billy played fantastic. It is no small accomplishment that he prevailed and given the talent which competed, Billy stood victorious. My hat is off to you Billy, great shooting.

Jerry, thank you for the acknowledgement and I really couldn't believe I won. Our match was a classic, over 12 hours of non stop one pocket and we both played great and not so great but that's to be understood when you're over 65 years of age. I would also like to thank all the people that congratulated me, it's people like yourself that inspire players to be special, the supporters of other people are what makes sport so great, thanks again to every one.

Bogies will be hosting another senior event later this year, a Super Senior event. You must be at least 70 years old to qualify, John Henderson won the first one beating James Christopher in the finals.

Thanks Jerry, good luck to you and if I ever get out to Ca. i'll look ya up and we can play a few days.
