Birdseye Predate Franklin SW

Alright, I have struggled with whether to put this up for sale. I have priced it to a couple of perspective AZers but I wasn't upset that it didn't sell. Unfortunately, I have a couple of expenses that I need to cover and I am going to let this beauty go to someone else. This cue has the large open hole pin and was made around '84-'85. It is probably the nicest piece of BEM I have ever seen in a cue. This is a really fine example of an early SW.

The cue has (1) original shaft and (1) later SW shaft. The later shaft has the thinner ring but matches well. Both collars match up well in diameter. Original shaft rolls straight but there is a very slight amount of daylight in the middle of the shaft when rolled. This is very minimal but I wanted to mention it. Shaft 2 rolls as straight as any I have seen. Butt rolls straight by itself and when screwed together the cue rolls straight. Finish is about 85-90% with some small misc. surface dings, nothing through to the wood that I can see.

weight: butt-16.2
original shaft- 3.2
shaft 2- 3.7

diameter: original shaft- 12.64 @ middle of ferrule
12.66 right below ferrule
brand new medium moori

shaft 2- 12.93 @ middle of ferrule
12.91 right below ferrule
undetermined layered tip

Feel free to PM me any questions about the cue you may have and I will respond ASAP. If you are looking for an older collectible SW that is also a monster player this is it. I will sell the cue with or without the second shaft as it matches up well with another SW I have. If you decide to purchase this cue please post in this thread (along with a PM) so any other perspective buyers will know the item has been sold. Thanks for looking.

Absolute lowest price
1750.00 w/ both shafts or 1550.00 with original only- includes shipping and insurance

Thanks Chris. When you get another shipment of J&J's let me know. I have a buddy who uses mine more than I do.

To answer a couple of questions I have recieved in PM's:

1. I do not know the history of the cue, I purchased it at DCC from a dealer that occasionally posts here on the forum.

2. Yes it can be and has been mistaken for a Kersenbrock, although I have been assured by Laurie F. that it is an early SW. (It has the identical design of another SW I had authenticated)

I know this cue was traded between 2 of the bigger dealers that attend many tournaments for well more than I am asking in this thread. This cue is the real deal. If anyone knows of a nicer more collectible example of an early SW for less $, let me know.

Wow, 1600.00 thats what? about .10 cents a birdseye. That may be a record number of birdseys for a pool cue? I love it.

Anyone else interested in this jewel? If not, I will put it on the shelf until after the expo.

Thanks,
D

Bump with bottom dollar for this classic. This is actually below an offer I had previously (you know who you are) and I will go no lower. If nobody wants this cue for this price I will send it to eBay. I would much rather sell it to a fellow AZer. I have another custom being finished soon and need to sell this one. If this cue was 59" it would be in play and not for sale. I would like to move this cue this weekend. Thanks D

I think these cues are so damn sexy, this what I would love to have. To bad i'm a broke college student bump

Bump for a sweet cue. If I hadn't spent so much on cues lately I would get this. I've never seen birdseye like this except in SW plain jane's - amazing.

This cue is an EXACT duplicate of one of the SW's I have-same rings, same BEM etc. Laurie did authenticate mine and there is hardly any doubt that this cue is also a SW.

Great price for a very nice cue.

I appreciate the good words. This cue is surprisingly not sold. I'm going to leave it on here 'til Mon. night, then I guess it is off to the auction site. :(
With all of the "I want a South West" people that are on this site I can't believe noone has ponied up and bought one this nice.

Don't miss out on this chance to own this cue. I wish I could keep it and afford to pay for the cue that I have being built but I can't. On the other hand, I am looking forward to getting my 59" loaded Titlist conversion. :)
