Bk-3 noise

Recently I sold my old Predator BK-3 to someone. Now he tells me that he hears a funny noise coming out of it. According to him it's coming from the butt. He put in a new weight and still hears it. Has anyone heard of this problem with the BK-3 before?

Any feedback is appreciated :)

First thing to try, explain to him that the noise is actually a low growl, not uncommon for Predator products!

I am sure he has checked all he can trying to find something loose so next is to have somebody with good ears or a stethoscope seek the noise. A mechanic's stethoscope or even a poor boy's stethoscope, a screwdriver with the flat held against the cue and the end of the handle firmly against your ear, can help locate the noise. Once the noise is found then a very tiny hole, a needle and syringe, and some super glue might be the fix.

A "funny noise" isn't much to go on but generally noises in the butt are the result of a glue or adhesive failing. I don't see much to fail on a BK3 but every possible joint or place two materials meet is suspect.

Good luck to both of you!

I'm guessing a weight bolt is loose in some fashion, butt threading? A cheap $10 snake cam could help.

Predator often uses multiple weight bolts.i.e. 1/2 oz plus 1/4 oz to make up a 3/4oz weight. could be some looseness in there. Mitch
