Hi all,
I'm putting a couple of nice cues on the market, and wanted to give AZB'rs a chance to see them first.
The first one up is this Black Boar tribute by Steve Klein. I know it might seem strange to some that someone did a "tribute cue" for a living maker, but this one is special. Six point BB's are very few and far between (less than a hundred), and not being made anymore (except for special people like Kam
). What few that are out there are expensive and extremely hard to find. That being said, our own 8-ball Rat had Steve Klein do this one for him. I already use a Klein for my daily player, or I would have definitely kept this cue in my own bag...
It is a simple, but elegant cue. It weighs 19.3-5 depending on the shaft. Both shafts are over 13mm and have highly figured ivory ferrules. The joint is heavy walled stainless with a special 5/16-14 pin. The cue has thick twin silver rings at all positions. The wrap is a textured boar hide and has a great feel to it. The ebony is very dark and the six hi-lo points are into a nicely figured maple forearm. It is in excellent shape with no noteworthy dings or scratches.
The cue is a real player! It has great feedback to the hands and a nice resonant tone to it.
I haven't had a chance to take pics yet, but knowing Mark as I do, I think he would be OK with me using the pics he had in his review of the cue (Thanks Mark!).
My price shipped in the continental US is SOLD. Thanks for looking!
Steve
