Black Dot and Zero Flex laminated shafts

Meucci makes the (35) layered laminated "Black Dot" shaft.
Lucasi makes the (8) segment pie laminated "Zero Flex" shaft.

Both companies make good arguments for their different approaches to producing a "Low Deflection" shaft. Both shafts sell for about ($160).

Has any used one or both of these shafts?

I have several Black Dot shafts and I also have an Ultimate Weapon shaft. I prefer the UW shaft when using CJ Wiley's TOI technique, but I love my Black Dots. Sorry about the Lucasi, but I've not shot with that one.:)

Lucasi hybrid shaft vs. Meucci Black Dot..

I have hit with the Lucasi hybrid and to me it is very similar to the old 314 "pre cat" predator shafts with the longer ferrules that they used back in the 90's.. It's a little different but too much time has elapsed between hitting with the pre cat 314 vs Lucasi hybrid to be exact and precise in my estimation..
The black dot is a much softer hitting shaft and has flex similar to a standard meucci shaft, but the deflection is super low. The black dot is easy to adjust to and shot well, but I have heard that they de-laminate and people have issues with them falling apart and warping frequently.
The Lucasi seemed very well made and hit solid, but very stiff.. I think the Meucci has a softer hit and is more accurate when it comes to deflection, but may not be as well made when it comes to design tech.. Just my experience!

Black Dot

I have shot with a Black Dot shaft on a Meucci sneaky. It shoots good for me, has not warped or fell apart. I have had it for 9 months, time will tell.

I've shot with both didn't really care for either just got an OB classic best shaft I've ever had that's just me

I have a Black Dot shaft on a cheap Meucci Echo butt and I've used it to break with for almost two years now. Not only have I used it, but several guys in the billiard hall also break with it.
To date, absolutely NO delamination and it rolls perfectly.
I doubt seriously that I have the only "good, reliable" Meucci shaft on the planet. Other than a couple of Vikings, Meucci is all I need to use.

I play 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. Lots of breaking.

I never hesitate to break with any of my Meuccis, whether its a merry widow or a casino. The black dot is perfection.
