Luther gave the Colonel his first black ferrules. I think it was all Wimpy ever shot with. Any old road dawgs collab on that??I’ve been using Black Micarta ferrules for a very long time now. View attachment 754798
Whole bunch in the 'Lou.Strange. They were on every wall in the 60s/70s. Can't find anything on Google.
Some players I know dot their ferrule. One black dot. The other has a red one. Curious if this constitutes as an aiming aid and if it’s legal.my house pro like the contrast of a black ferrule against the white cue ball
so he took a black sharpie to make this black "ferrule" for his OB shaft he was using at that time

I used to mark my shaft on the top side so that I always had my shaft oriented the same. Some players I know dot their ferrule. One black dot. The other has a red one. Curious if this constitutes as an aiming aid and if it’s legal.
They can always ask Meucci!!Some players I know dot their ferrule. One black dot. The other has a red one. Curious if this constitutes as an aiming aid and if it’s legal.
I bet most of the younger players wouldn't notice this or play with a shaft long enough to figure out how it hits on orientation. Good tip!;I used to mark my shaft on the top side so that I always had my shaft oriented the same.
Shafts flex and deflect the cue ball differently based upon which way they are oriented.
