Black rubber residue from ball return

I have a 9' Diamond Pro-Am and every time someone hits a shot with authority the ball gets a black rubber streak that is difficult to clean. Does anyone know if there is any way to treat the rubber or ball to help lessen the issue? And if not, is there an easier way to clean that off? TIA!

This is part of Diamond experience , might Private message the Cobra.

He is resident Diamond Xspery.

I believe there are several threads on this issue that may have what you’re looking for. The issue you’re having is from the leather pockets, not the ball return. Mine occasionally get the same marks on them as well.

It could be. So if that's the case, is there any way to help that?
Type into search machine:

Numerous threads on the topic, you'll have to do some searching. I don't own a Diamond (I have a Gold Crown) but I do know this has been an issue for some Diamond owners.

I get some marks on mine. I think as others have alluded to it appears to be the liners. I just run mine thru the ball polisher every couple of weeks they come right off.

I just rub it off when I rack the balls. Rare to hit them that hard these days unless fustration kicks in.

Lol, same. It's when I get pissed and really hit a ball hard I actually have the ball hit the liner. It's kind of a good barometer if your hitting to hard imo. They shouldn't be smacking against the liner very often.

My diamond used to leave marks. I used rubbing alcohol but it did not help, still black marks.
I finally used clear varnish on the inside of pockets, and that worked.

No thanks, not putting varnish anywhere near my table lol

Give DIamond some time to fix this problem. It's only been happening since around 2006.
Lol.. ouch ... I'm surprised the cobra guy has let it slide, quality control is definitely need of something lol

No one should hit a ball really hard, not necessary, but it just feels good .. stress relief! After a hard day instead of hitting the heavy bag I just pound the hell out of some balls on my GC IV, practicing my animal draw, force follow for 27 rails, or just disciplining a ball over and over for not going in the hole. If I were to spend thousands of dollars on a table, and it left marks on the ball, hitting the balls softer would not extinguish my rage. Sorry, but after all these years?? Fix your damn problem!!

I have found the more I play the less power I use. Slow is smooth and smooth is accurate. YMMV
Yeah, I'll admit...

I was just talking to a pool friend recently how I have had to make some major changes to my game, as a result of the new table.

Working pretty well, I think. I do like it when the balls leave the cloth on the way to the pocket though.

Like I told that max one day, as he bemoaned my lack of common sense on a pool table:
Goddamnit, man! Some of us just like to watch the balls roll around.

I thought I might experience this when I bought my Pro-Am last year, but it has never left a mark on the balls. Not even on power shots.
