Does anyone know what happened in the Jeanette Lee and Mercer bar table match, I did not get to see it all?

yes, i'd love to get an update as well. i shut it off somewhere around 2:45am right after what looked like jeanette pulled a move on him. he had a shot on the three which was right next to the 10 he shot and kissed the ten in. it looked like someone was watching the shot but i guess it was just guy "x" she got to watch it and not someone who they had both agreed upon to be "official". he made the 10 she called foul, pulled the 10 up and now had her own shot on the 3-10 carom. i didn't even watch the shot because i just didn't like the way she went about that situation. i love her and watching her play, but that felt like a move and that whole set was moving to slow and and not very clean so i had to go. if anyone knows the final and what they were playing for - when i tuned in it had already started and the commentators weren't sure - the replies whould be very much appreciated.

Mercer?

I don't know who Mercer is, but if you're referring to the Larry Price match, somebody said it ended this AM at 0730 with Jeannette one game ahead.

Oops, that is right Price, do you know if they will finish it? Thanks for the info.

They agreed to prorate the match at 7:00 am, but there was a discussion over how many games. larry does not believe he should pay for the game on the wire because it was prorated. No money has exchanged as of noon today.

That was tough to watch, a lot of bickering at the beginning but at least it settled down between them after about an hour of play. It seems like a pretty even matchup that will be determined by who gets there break working first. If it keeps going like it was, they could be in for another long session like that 12 ahead between Cone and ??? (cant remember his opponents name), but the had to have played for a total of 30 hours and they were still even.

Does it ryhme with Mutman?

Who won, Cone.

Thanks for the hint, I think it was Lutman and the last I saw of it was around 6 am Monday morning. They were even and It looked like they both decided to just shake each others hand and call it a draw. If they didnt do that, they probably would still be playing, both of them were very good shots on a bar table so there was no lack of skill, just two even players.

I stayed up till 4 am watching.....saw some good shots.....but never witnessed any great play by either one. I left with a bad taste in my mouth. It appeared to me that Jeanette's entourage were doing their best to disrupt Larry's game at every opportunity, and Jeanettes behavior wasn't exactly top notch either. I suppose sharking ones opponent is to be expected in a money game......I just didn't expect to see it at this level or from a player of Jeanettes quality......Dan

yep

I agree with you about the sharking......shows a definite lack of class....also not very professional....guess we can attribute it to the effect that dollars have on people, no matter who they are.......

Have any of you actually been to the DCC? Of those how many have played in money games there?

I have done both and without being there and being in the box you can't know what was going on.

It's hilarious, at the beginning of the match everyone was dogging Jeanette and saying how she can't play on the barbox and that Larry was stealing.

Later when she wins it was because she was "sharking" him????? Come on seriously?

The guy is a DCC veteran and is twice as old as Jeanette and a vetran gambler. Yes, they had words, yes the people in Jeanette's group would clap when she sank a money ball - but so what??? I have been there when people CHEERED every money ball that the guy they were betting on won. I have stood there when the crowd HECKLES the players during their match.

I played a one pocket set there and had to fade five pimps talking smack during our match - I talked smack right back and enjoyed every minute of it and took down the $700 on top of it.

I think if I were a top player I'd stay off the TAR table unless I was getting paid for it. That's the only way fading the commentary from the rail would be worth it to me.

Nope....I've never been there, I can only harken back to some advice given me by my mother.....Just because everyone else is doing it.....doesn't make it right......and as is true in other professions.....those at the top are often held to higher standards.......Dan

And then there is the saying "when in Rome, do as the Romans do it".

The point being that what we see on the stream and THINK is happening doesn't necessarily mean that the people who were IN THE BOX are feeling.

Can't everyone just be happy for the free roll on getting to see action?

I don't think the romans gave as good advice as my mother, and not being "in the box" matters not. I, and apparently others as well, saw behavior that we felt was unacceptable for a player of her standing. We are all entitled to our opinions, and you have the right to dismiss them as worthless or uninformed......but if enough people tell me this place is on fire......I'm at least gonna sniff for smoke......

Fair enough. I watched the same stream you all did - and I guess I missed the "sharking". In any event I find it cool that Jeanette Lee is mixing it up in the action room and being a player.

Bummer that she isn't allowed to be one of the boys.

:-)

I've gambled with Jeanette before and although she wasn't quiet as a church mouse she wasn't out of line she never sharked me. When she is losing she has a slight attitude, but I've never seen her pull any moves the time I played her or the 3-4 other times I seen her gamble she is getting up and tackling what was known as a predomintly Man's arena (woofing and matching up) I'm sure Larry can handle it
