Blackcreek or Nitti

Nitti hands down. Chris is a good guy and one hell of a cue maker. Pass on the Blackcreek.

To say pass on the Blackcreek shows your total lack of knowledge on cues. Nitti makes a very nice cue but there both even at best and Nitti has been at it alot longer and hit his peak awhile ago.Travis was one of the hotest cuemakers at vf and maybe your comparing one that you got in a trade but I've seen Nitti's cue's sit forever for sale here and on ebay. I'd bet amillion if you had one for sale (Blackcreek)it would be advertised as the best cue ever made like all the rest you try to deal.:D

let's make a count

I'd vote for Travis on his blackcreek cues. They are real solid hitters. Although, Nitti's are pretty nice cues too.

Blackcreek / Nitti

Do what I would do, buy em both and keep em even if you don't like em

If you could have either of these cues, which one would choose?
Blackcreek by far. He plays pool with us sometimes and is about the friendliest person you'll ever meet. I think Nitti makes a great cue but market is pretty soft on them right now.

Blackcreek.

I've owned both. Nitti makes a fine cue, and does fantastic inlay work.

But Blackcreeks have the hit.

Can't go wrong with either one, but for playability, looks and overall quality I would select the Blackcreek in a heartbeat.

i think that decision would depend on the particular cue....

i have seen a few examples of both that would make your jaw drop...

Why attack someone like this for giving his opinion. It was asked for you know.

to say Mike has a "total lack of knowledge of pool cues" or how ever you so eloquently worded it is one of the dumbest things i have read here in awhile.that guy constantly buys, sells and trades nice cues.

Cue choice

I'd take a Nitti if I had to pick between the 2 cues. I'm sure Blackcreek cues are great cues, but Chris Nitti has moved up the ladder and is producing great playing cues and some are in the $3000 plus price range.

Mike why would you ever say somthing like this especially in a public forum. I agree with one of the other posters in that they are even at best. I personally would give the edge to Travis. I think you should explain your opinion or Apologize.

I personally think that Travis's finish is in a class of it's own. The finish looks liquid and almost 3 dimensional. To knock Travis is a huge mistake on your part. Travis is young and still evolving but is comming up with some new and creative designs. He also sweats the balance and playability aspect in his cues. One of the Blackcreeks I used to own was the second best playing cue I've ever had. (wish I had it back).
Travis is on his way up IMO.

Chris's work is also very good. His inlay work is second to none and razor sharp. I was impressed with his cues at Valley Forge and enjoyed talking with him. I can't comment on his playability as I have never hit balls with one as the Nitti's belong to my partner Jamie.

We have both available on our sight and I don't feel you can go wrong with ethier maker. Blackcreeks do seem to sell faster and resell better than the Nitti 's but that is about the market and has nothing to do with the quality of the cue.

Sorry if I ofended a few of the expert posters above but maybe just saying your choice instead of saying "Hands Down" would bother a few azer's also.

Either would be a solid choice.

I've compared these two guys in my mind before this was posted. I think they are comparable in a lot of ways. I don't think you could go wrong either way. Playabilty, finish, etc. The main difference I see is that Chris does a little more intricate designs.

And the main thing is they are both good peoples. :) :)

Cant we all just get along? LOL. The question being asked is subjective. I would say try them both out if you can, and then analyze what you are buying the cue for. Is it for playability, or collectibility? Just follow your instincts and take all advice for what its worth. There are a lot of knowledgable, reputable members on here. Good Luck!!

a9ballbr8k, I agree with you but I don't play in a hall where players buy these types of cues. At best the most expensive cue that my friends play is about $800 or so. I really don't have the opportunity to play with both of these cues. That is why is I am asking the question as to what would be preferred by most the the posters on this thread.

It seems that Blackcreek squeaks by Nitti by a small margin. This gives me the general info. I was looking for and helps me make a decision.

Thanks to eveyone that gave me feedback, info., and opinions. I appreciate this very much. Thanks again - Dawgie.

Either of these cuemakers would be a good choice if you like that set-up....flat face, wood to wood contact, Radial pin. They both have a lively hit and I would give the nod to Black Creek for a little stiffer hit. For $800 you should be able to get into a basic model with points from either cuemaker. Resale-wise they are both about the same....not great but not bad either.

Resale is not my goal. I keep my cues. I still have my first cue which is a Players.

I might be convinced to sell my Players - Do I hear $500.00? It was only played with about 3 months Ha ha.
