sometimes i think we are doing a diservice to the cuemakers and the cues we love so much by such magnified pictures.i have had and have some blackcreek cues on order now,the work is top drawer,a number one,muy bonito, down to the little details but if you put that cue or anyother cue under the scrutinizing power of magnified pictures thats an unfair examination.
I am not saying that you or the other cue lovers are trying to do this,on the contrary I believe you are hoping to do just the opposite.But look at anything up too close and under too much magnification and little things show up in a way that beauty is sacrificed to details that are over emphasized.Its almost like looking at molecules instead of cuesticks

Well one thing in doing this, they will watch the quality and be less likely to let things go that might not pass the muster. I won't mention any names.. ahem.. but there are some collectors that walk the show's with loops. If that is the standard to pass, then photo's really aren't that big a deal. In this day with the machinery that is being used, I for one expect much LESS mistakes when I see cues today.
I'll admit, I do see quite a bit of misalignment, glue lines on some pics.. but I know if I see them, everyone see's them. Again, I absolutely hold todays cues, especially those made with cnc to a much higher standard, then the cuemakers of yesteryear. IMHO there is no reason for a cue to be on a scale of 1-100.. a 99.5 when using cnc.

Thanks for the comments guys...... I think??? Sorry for the big pics. I just really wanted to show off this cue. I feel you have to see it up close to appreciate the way the cue is done and to get a feel for the veneer work. I am not a collector, just a player who likes a very nice cue. Travis built this according to my design and it came out exactly as I wanted. I do know that all the rings line up exactly as well as the ivory inlays through out the cue.
