Bludworth joint pin tap

Had a customer bring me a stripped out shaft that turns out to be a Bludworth. I looked quick at it and thought it was 3/8x10.....NOT. My 3/8x11 drive collar screws down about 1.3 of the way then locks up. I am assuming it is a modified 11.5. Does anyone have the tap that I could borrow? I will gladly pay for shipping and rental fee. Thanks,
Dave

Nothing says you care about your customers like selling them something they will have a really hard time finding a different shaft for.
I've live threaded a shaft for a Blud, but it's a serious PITA. Maybe see if they're willing to do a pin swap.

You could send the shaft to Donald Bludworth.
He's on FB.
I don't know anyone who lends/rents tools.
I use too, and got punished for it.
They didn't come back.

I have done it multiple times and, thankfully, the taps came back. Do you have the tap Mike? I would be willing to take the drive for you to do the tapping....

I have no clue how you can with that half thread.

I have been advised that the 11.5 comes sooooo close that it will work, so ordered that tap and will see. First time in 27 or so yrs of doing this I have ran across this REAL Bastard thread....and hopefully the last.

His thread pitch has been described here in the archives. I wonder if there is a metric equivalent that is very close?
