Blue Book Of Cues - Need Help

How much does the Blue Book Of Cues cost nowadays? Seems like I got one about 10-12 years ago and it was only about $50 or so.

2nd edition

If anybody has this book would you please PM me? I need some info, please.

I have a 2nd edition. Unfortunately it's not good for too much because the prices are so much lower than the book list things in today's market. The 3rd edition is the same. Some items even half the price. The market for used cues of almost any cue maker is really down today. The book is only good for reference. Anyone using it to price their cues for sale or what the value of the cue they are buying is up for a rude awakening. Even Palmer's from the Palmer expert website, the prices are way off of what cues are being bought for today.

There really needs to be a new edition to this magnificent tome. But I cant even imagine the swirling sucking eddy of despair that comes with updating something like this. Good luck Bro!

I have a Third Edition in nice condition if anybody is willing to send me 85.00.....

I don't know if this info is current but if it is it looks like they're moving to 'online subscription'

https://bluebookofpoolcuevalues.com/Products/Value_Guide.aspx

Everyone is doing it.
Then they make apps where you have to pay for the online subscriptions.
But hey "you can access it from anywhere" how awesome is that....
SUCKS!!! as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see anything wrong with it AT ALL. The cue market is constantly changing so what better way than to have access to a site or app that is frequently updated to reflect current prices? Maybe even reflect sales that subscribers could post.

I'm sure YOU don't think printing supplements every month or so would be cost effective either SO.. "They" couldn't compete with the scenario I just described. So what better solution is there?

Are you complaining because it's gonna cost YOU $ for the access??

Well if so, their research, site development, and maintenance aren't being done so YOU have free access to their hard work. Knowledge is power. In many cases it also cost you "something" to obtain it. In this case it's good ole' dollars and cents.

GOOD FOR THEM!

................ Update...........

As Larry mentioned, the subscription is for historical reference only. The site isn't being updated so to 9ballr, if you knew this then my comment is mute..

Note: The Blue Book of Pool Cues Online Subscription has not been updated since 2005. Please be aware that if you purchase this Online Subscription that we currently do not have plans to update it in the near future and the information contained within this Online Subscription should be used for historical purposes only.

I have BB's and they are good for information but definitely not for value. Just shop around and see what the current market dictates. Cannot go by the books. You can score on show babies and one time collectors selling off herd for up to 50% of what they paid new.

I believe this is the situation on most customs, but not all. As we know and see, some cues increase value, especially after top maker reduces production, retires or passes.

New paid online version with monitored up to date pricing and would be great. That would be allot of work and worth the $$ for many.

Have a good day,

-Kat,

Sure would be nice if they would update and stay on top of things. THEN it would be worth a subscription... In it's current state, just as an historical reference, its somewhat limited.. Thanks for the info Larry
